I really hope you all enjoy it as much as you think/hope you will, but I doubt it. The hype and hope for this social service has gotten way out of hand, so much so that it cannot ever live up to the hype that's been built over the 2 years since its announcement.
I'm not saying there's not a feature or two that interests me (mainly the possibility of press briefings - E3, TGS - from within the media room space) but other than that I have no interest in walking around dancing with you all, or watching guys hopelessly try to hit on girls that most of the time will end up being dudes, anyway.

I agree, it seems like a nice feature but it is kinda out of hand how crazy people are getting over it... lets hope they do manage to keep the servers live until the real things launches.

I would think that people who spend their time on gamespot forums, will spend time on Home...just a thought. :)

I would disagree with that in the strongest possible sense.:)

I spend time on here and will spend time on Home and so will many others. It's basically like a 3D forum with added features anyway.

I don't think that's a fair comparison at all.
By virtue of the work that I do, I'm usually on the computer for a large portion of my day. This allows me to quickly and easily get onto and off of the GameSpot forums quickly and easily. I can read and reply to topics quickly and easily, and doing so doesn't take much time, nor does it disrupt the normal goings on of my day.
Home, on the other hand, requires that I be in my gaming room with enough time to load up my PS3, load up Home and aimlessly walk around until something happens. I cannot quickly and easily access it, nor can I spend just a minute or two in it and get my fix, unlike the GameSpot forums.
I see what you guys are saying, but comparing Home and GameSpot just isn't warranted in my book.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Home hater, I just don't have much care to use it at all. I don't need to walk around a space with other people who are dancing and texting to me. That does not interest me in the least. Conversing quickly, easily, briefly and in a way that does not impact my day at all here on GameSpot does, and that's why assuming that one who enjoys GameSpot will also use and enjoy Home isn't really a fair assumption.
