I hadnt planned on getting any more games this year, more so for lack of interest than lack of funds. But now I can get any game free as my brothers are getting 2, and I get the third free (through Toys R Us deal) as a christmas present. I've narrowed it down to 2 games. Resistance 2 or Prince of Persia

I never played R:FOM, but thought the demo was OK... but I much preferred COD style. I was in the R2 beta and thought it was OK, but a bit too much like Unreal gameplay wise. Im leaning a little more towards R2 as I think it has more replay value (even if i think i'll prefer COD:WaW), and has better resell value. Also, its universally loved around these forums so thats gonna mean something.

A couple weeks ago I was set on getting Prince of Persia... and then I saw the reviews. yeah, the scores were good but i think most critics got a little carried away with nostalgia and overawe at the graphics. I usually trust GT reviews over everyone else, and they gave it a great 8.7,, but bashed it throughout. It looks awesome play, and looks gorgeous, but I think its lacking in the content. Just looks like really big open spaces were just basically climb and jump around with very little variety and rare combat. I wanted to want this game, but I'm not so sure. Id love to get some feedback from those who played. It'd also be nice to have a proper platformer in my collection as I dont really count LBP as one.

I have no interest in BioShock, VC, Dead Space and own all of the other 'worthwhile' games to own.

Help me out guys!

Didn't I just see you online playing Resistance 2? Do my eyes deceive me .. :P

I hear PoP is a great game, but isn't the longest, and I doubt it has online play ..

Resistance online is well worth it right there .. especially the price tag of free ..

I personally get Resistance 2 if I were you .. but I'm not, so ultimately it's your decision .. ;)

Prince of Persia. I'm not like a big fan of Prince of Persia games, I just played Sands of Time. But this new game has its own thing going for it. Most reviews pretty much highlight all the good stuff like; amazing artistic design, level design, and animation. I must say though that I like the combat, its not very deep but when you're fighting one-on-one and get use to the combat they start to get really amazing visually. It doesn't have much replay value other than the story which is about a solid 12 hours but adds extra time if you want the trophies. The best thing about the game for me is that Elika is there every step of the way, you can choose to talk to her use her in the fights and they talk to eachother while you're doing all the crazy platforming making it realistic and believable. I actually enjoy playing this game over and over, its fast and not frustrating like other games can be.

I hate that they used Nathan Drake for voice. It doesnt even suit the look of character,, which is a gypsy. I still have no idea which game to pick.. i wish Prince of Persia had more variety and depth or else itd be a no brainer

I really and truly enjoy Resistance 2 and believe it's overall package is a deal, and to get it for free just tops it off. Prince of Persia seems great, however a lot of people say it is very easy and lacks replayability, although everyone seems to enjoy it regardless. I would go with Resistance 2. I cannot put that game down.

i played prince of persia and i didnt like it at all, the graphics are bad, its not really challenging and there are barely any fights, so u just end up jumping around by pressing a few buttons for a few hours and then the game is over.

i was a big fan of the previous ones and they were great games since they had good graphics compared to a ps2 and they were pretty challenging, but the new one just sucks

Tough choice....I am going to get both so I don't have that problem....

I say Resistance 2 for replay value. But beware, if you played the beta and you just thought it was OK...

What about Motorstorm PR?

I love Resistance 2. Get it for the replay value. I'm betting PoP doesn't have much in that area. Seems more like a rental to me. Or perhaps a purchase when the price goes down.

Personally i prefer not to play a game from beginning to the end in a go but alternate games. If you can afford them go for them because they are so different that each will give you a nice break from the other. And then perhaps just trade in Prince of Persia if you don't feel like keeping it when you have finished it. You should get a good cashback if you do that next month, before the next major releases. R2 is a keeper!

I didnt really like Burnout demo, loved the game. Maybe same thing for R2 the demos (Motorstorm) gameplay felt reealllly sluggish, I actually didnt like it at all. I dont know, its just not for me. I preferred the Motorstorm 1 gameplay a lot more, seemed more responsive. I am comparing a demo to a demo though haha. ... A lot of love for R2, as I expected. Uncharted was a short game, with not the greatest replay value but im definately glad i got it, maybe PoP is same way. Keep bringing on the feedback,, and I wanna know from more people that have played/own PoP

The lack of love for POP makes me sad :(. I just got it yesterday and I love it. It's a wonderful game and a great successor to The Sands Of Time trilogy.

I used to think that way. It's all a matter of you geting used to it. Srsly, I didn't like Motorstorm 2 gameplay at first... but then I played the full game....I guarantee you...the track in the demo is pure balls compared to the rest! The game is a pure rush! If you don't want to buy it rent it or borrow it at least!

I just order PoP like....2 hours ago. The problem here is that TC isn't pumped for any of those 2 games, so if he will get one of them, it better be the one that will last him longer.

My vote is for R2. The campaign is really fun and can last over 10 hours which is good imo for a FPS. Then there is the online. It is hands some of the best fun to be had for an online FPS. My bro and I played for like 4 hours the other day on splitscreen, and it was a blast. It's addicting.

Easily Resistance 2 is the better buy. Prince of Persia will last a bit, but it is an extremely easy game, and the lack of weapon upgrades will make it boring quite quickly. Don't get me wrong, it is an excellent game, but Resistance 2 has so many more features for you to choose from. You have an excellent single player campaign with epic boss battles, as well as an seperate campaign to be played with up to 8 players online. Also, don't forget the massive 60 player online multiplayer. All of those features will keep you hooked on the game for months.
