I think it mostly depends on the game that I'm playing but I could play with all of them. The game just has to match the gfx style. I wouldn't want Killzone 2 with cartoony gfx, ratchet and clank however needs to be cartoony. Realistic ratchet would feel so wrong.

I don't really prefer any of those graphics but I like something like Ratchet & Clank the most when it's done good though cell shaded isn't bad either (the art style of Okami is still incomparable).

Definitely realistic graphics for me. The whole point of this current generation of consoles is to provide more realistic graphics to create a more immersive gameplay experience - and it works! As far as cartoonish or cell-shaded stuff, I can get dozens of games like that on the PS2 - for about one-sixth the price of a PS3 game. I didn't spend $400 for a PS3 to play last-gen games; I've already got plenty of those.

No, the whole point of a new generation is that the old generation is old, and technology is improving. They didn't make next-gen consoles just so Chloe and Elena's clothes become wet.

Depends on the game.

If it were a 1st/3rd person shooter, racing game, sports game, or other game that really should exist in a 3D world, then "Realistic, lots of detail, blurry up close" is the way to go.

On the other hand, a Fighting Game, Visual Novel, or other Anime-inspired game should stick with the other option.

i like them all as long as they are done tastefully and artfully and they dont look like an afterthought....i think no matter what they decided to use, they should look like there was hard work put into it.

Each one has it's own purpose and gives the gaming community a nice change from one game to another. I like them all :)

Recently, I watched my friend playing Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, and later played UC2. I realized that the two different types of graphics (both are BEAUTIFUL) look awesome, but I slightly prefer smoother scrolling.

Realistic with lots of details. Not saying the other styles sucks, but this particular one draws me into the game more.

I like all of them. They just have to fit the type of game they're used into.

That being said, I've never cared much about graphics in a game. All games don'T have to look like MGS4, Uncharted 2 or Crysis to be fun.

BaraChat

Just what I'm going to post.

I definitely agree on the bolded lines.

My favorite art styles. Dark & gritty like Fallout 3, Batman, Bioshock, Metal Gear, inFAMOUS, etc... Glossy flash animations like in Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, LBP, PoP, etc. Realistic in every sense like in GTA, Uncharted, Fight Night, etc Overall my favorite art directions of this gen are as follows: Prince of Persia Bioshock Batman Arkham Asylum Little Big Planet Possibly God of War 3 to follow & Bioshock 2
