Quake 2 around a decade ago. I used to play online with the administrator at my ISP at the time, it was sweet he'd give me free internet access and we would play for hours and hours. Before that though I did play a lot of LORD (Legend of the Red Dragon) on BBS. I love that you can still play around with BBS via telnet.
Mine was Soldier of Fortune 2 for the PC. It was the first game I got for my PC and I played it for three years straight without buying any other games for the PC. I bought a few for my kids for the PS2 and Gamecube, but that was it.

:lol: thats funny. I thought Socom 1 totally sucked and sold it 2 weeks after getting it. So I skipped part 2, then decided to give it a chance again with part 3 and it sucked also. So I lost all hope in this series and will never play it again.
I played quite a few PC on lower end ones. But for some reason the first Medal of Honor Allied Assault PC. I just built a new rig with the new GeForce 4 in it at the time. The good 128 Titanium version. And so it looked great on what was for then a pretty good PC set up. So for amount of play. It was all nighters on that one. As far as online. before that of course their was doom and others offline. But for like 8 hour online runs, that was the game.
Socom. It has caused me permanent hand pain, but it was worth it. :PSherpico
As I get older, im starting to get a little bit of pain in my right pinky and ring finger. But my left is fine. I think from messing with guitar for so long my left has stayed healthier. I may have a touch of arthritis in the right hand maybe? When I used to own that other box. And It had those long hard triggers, good for racing. My finger would start to hurt after long bouts of TOCA race driver and such.
Mech Assault for the original Xbox. It was one of the first online console games and I loved the concept. Halo 2 kept me in the online gaming, and now what makes me play is either Call of Duty 4 and/or Warhawk.
CoD back in the days.. and BF1942, even though i didn't know jack $%^# about the concept of the game. and all i did was man a ship in the ocean as a ***.

haha. Well now the sword makes or brakes the game. Usually a team that controls the sword with a good player wins. Especially if you duel someone else who has a sword and they don't know parry. That makes them curse, they don't know what happens. lol
Resistance: Fall of Man - I've been playing for over a year and I'm still playing today - it's so good that I can't play any other games online because I was spoiled by the perfect online interface of Resistance coupled with lag-free, fast, furious, and hella-fun gameplay. It takes literally seconds to join a ranked or custom match, it's easy to add friends, start a party, and join a clan - there's no frustration involved with any part of the user interface, which is more than I can say for nearly all other online shooters. You can enter the game and just start shooting the crap out of everything rambo-styIe, but there is a suprising amount of strategy involved which requires lightning quick thinking and reflexes - you can play however you want depending on your mood.
Guess it would have to be Final Fantasy 11, it was addicting until those pointless level-cap quests. Then came WoW that consumed 2+ years of my life. I mostly play CoD4 online now, Resistance and Warhawk online was pretty sweet too.

im not too old, only 21... i was jusy playing this game at a very young age ;)
i wish they would remake it only to update the visuals but you just know they would mess it up somehow.. they would ruin the feel of the game. something about it felt so right and no quake has been the same since.

Oh well I'm still the grand pa of online gaming, but I'm glad someone else on this forum has the same memories of Quake 2 that I do.
Call of Duty 2 for 360, i owned people so much in that game. A friend of mine and i literally played online for 7-8 hours a day. Got so good at it then suddenly stopped playing.
I got really hooked because of the Soldier of Fortune 2 MP demo.. yes the demo, i also had the full game but for some weird reason the mp demo was and maybe still is a lot of fun, i remember having clans and being one of the best snipers on there. Good times..
The most fun i had after sof2 is Gears of War online with friends, also...good memories :D
RFOM - Never touched on-line play until then. Honestly thought I never would but then the wife and kids went out for the day and I gave it a try and became instantly hooked
Warcraft 2 and Starcraft. Played the games at my friends house. We didn't know what to do, we were about 7 or 8, but it was a hell lot of fun to play against human players. :P
