Which would look better? MGS1 on my PS2 using component cables on a 1080i tv or MGS1 on my PS3 using HDMI on a 1080i tv.

Playing MGS1 on a SDTV would be the best I think. But between those two you mentioned I would go with the PS3.

I think that would be the best one. I only play PS1 games over my PSP but PS2 games suck on HDTV's. So I took the old SDTV of my parents and now I'm playing most PS2 games on it.
