Late 07 to middle 08 devs will get used to its architecture. By 2010-2012 the devs will get most likely the most out of it. If you were meaning the sales, then when FF, DMC and MGS are released, unless one of the new IP has the same effect as Halo did for Xbox
2010 is when the real casual people will start buying the PS3. Sony has already stated that they don't care about the people who buying PS2 and they can wait for those people to jump to the PS3 during 2010.
mid 2008 and onwards the PS3 will peak because of a pirce drop and developers finally getting the most out of the console. Also more people will have HDTV's and blu ray will be in full swing by then.
but 2007 will still be an excellent year for PS3 gamers.
I would say in another 18 months, devs are still going to be uneasy with the controls (tools) until then. I expect we'll see the same level of quality that's been on the 360 emerge around that time. PS3 currently has a good line-up already but I expect we'll see more down the road.
