Link??Here's the link http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/whiteknightstory/review.html
They said combat is too easy. Hmm, I'd have to try that. I heard the combat system from other reivews is a little difficult. They don't like the maze like patterns. Sounds like most dungeon crawlers. I still might have to try this game sometime.

Lol i just bothered searching the review XD. I reckon this is one of those games you have to play for yourself.I was iffy about this game, and this review is pretty discouraging...rahul_battasame man, I was about to buy it tom. I guess ill just wait for gamefly to send me a copy.
Since honestly I have NEVER cared what any website scores a game or movie...I go on my own mind..Im seeing the CONS of this game are CONS of most every game we play. ....Predictable story "every game I have ever played in my life"....Easy combat "is this really a con?"....Voiceovers? most games suck with voice anyways so who really cares?
Look at Oblivion for that matter. I have put over 300hrs in that game. Every other voice is the same. Every thing that comes out of their mouths is the same. THey look the same. The story is the same lame thing every time. Side missions all the same.
AND lets not forget about Assassins Creed. That game is so repedative I dont know where to begin. BUT they both scored well. eh, I dont know if im going to get WKC, but its on my list...
I'm still getting WKC regardless of GS's review because at the end of the day reviews are just opinions and I rather follow mine then someone else's.
Good point, what this guy mentioned should not have this game rated a 6.0. That's ridiculous. These so-called "problems" dont seem that problematic.Since honestly I have NEVER cared what any website scores a game or movie...I go on my own mind..Im seeing the CONS of this game are CONS of most every game we play. ....Predictable story "every game I have ever played in my life"....Easy combat "is this really a con?"....Voiceovers? most games suck with voice anyways so who really cares?

Exactly..sometimes I make a good point..:) I might rent is just to see, then go from there. Every game is worth a rent.
lol i love when an exclusive comes out for any system and seeing all the fanboys cry about the review if it gets a bad score.
InFamous got a 9... just reminding people.MethodManFTWand i absolutely loved infamous.. but with RPG's its a little more black and white imo.. an action adventure game can get a bad score and still be decent.. but from the looks of it with WKC its really been there done that, at least with me, and i still have a plethora of amazing RPG's to play on the Ps2 so i don't think i need to waste my time with this one (especially considering that the combat and the story are the 2 biggest cons, and are also the only 2 things i really look for in an RPG, well mainly story actually...)
You mean the same guy who doesn't beat games before releasing reviews anymore unless it's Modern Warfare? j/k, Yahtzee. I love you and your incomplete reviews.I'm more interested in the Zero Punctuationreview, if he comes up with one.

OK I give you AC but oblivion? That game may have used limited voices but the acting was top-tier. The missions (expect for the gates) were all different and far from boring(6 different characters same missions)Was going to get it, now I might not because not only GameSpot, but Eurogamer also said it was too easy.
And they even gave it an 8/10. 8/10 or 6/10, I'm not interested in an easy JRPG.Challenge is what I'm looking for when it comes to these games.
wow, didnt know reviewers had this much effect on gamers. i dont care im still gettin it, or renting it at least, i think almost all game deserve a rental JoKeR_421
lol, where have you been? It's not like you're new to GameSpot.
I buy games regardless of review scores, but only if I'm interested in it. I'm not interested in WKC now that I know how easy it is.
Which jrpg have been higher than a 7 from gamespot?
Because Star Ocean IV flopped with a 7.5
Lost odyssey 7.5
Blue Dragon 6.0
Infinite Undiscovery 6.0
As you can see this is not a problem of too much hype or high expectations. It is just that while wrpgs have evolve (Mass Effect) to be something on par with what you can expect from a game of this gen, jrpg's are still stuck in the past and have a hard time to score 8 and 9's from the western media. That's all. But if you like jrpg's you'll find WKC quite fun. We like jrpg's because of the charm and because we know what to expect from them and that's exactly why GS scores them so low.
Other reviewers like Eurogamer rated the game as high as 8. And they are quite harsh with their reviews.
The only jrpg's that can score high in the western media are the ones with the words "fantasy" and "final". I bet that many people will be disappointed with FFXIII but GS will rate it with a 9 or maybe a 10. You can quote me on that.

well i was on a journey lol, and im new :D.....besides i was being sarcastic and since i had my eye on WKC and was interested in it im gettin it :Pit's a biased review... the game doesn't seem perfect by any stretch but i plan on getting after i buy GOW3 and FF13.
It looks fun to create your online character and bludgeon creatures to level up, sound familiar? yeah just like every other Japanese RPG ever made. It just seems like it's fashionable to be anti-japanese since XBROKE entered the console scene. Look at all the horrible RPG's ported from XBROKE to PS3, they rated them higher and i've played the demos, they are wretched dvd level PS2 games. I'd say White Knight is definitely better than Tales Of Verperia or whatever it's called, and all the other ports. At least White Knight Chronicles has longer draw distance for a somewhat next generation level of detail. All the XBROKE ports are hardly equal to PS2 games.

And don't forget about the online componets. That's something quite new to combine with a jrpg.
BTW someone is playing the game right now in high quality. And let me tell ya, it looks good! I mean the game... http://www.justin.tv/shingin#r=FoLQHjc
In general I agree with you, gamespot doesn't rate JRPGs very high on consoles, but Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia both managed to get 8.5/10. Ironicly i'm not interested in the least in either of these games, but i'm dieing to play some of those lower scoring JRPGs like lost odessey, Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery, last remnant, and ofcourse WKC.Which jrpg have been higher than a 7 from gamespot?

XBROKE wtf? how many jrpgs have been ported from 360 to ps3.. oh yea... 2 or 3? and tales of vesperia was pretty fun.. do u even have an xbox to be talking crap about one?
and how do you know if white knight is better than tales when you have yet to play that game either?
i have an xbox and ps3 and whats ur problem with people getting xbox's because they maybe wanna support their american product more?
last time i checked thats how the japanese are, supporting their own system and not buying the xbox for crap. your whole post is biased. go to system wars if ur gonna talk about xbox rpgs being "hardly equal" to ps2 games. your in a topic that has nothing to do with the xbox or the ps2.
and next generation level of detail would be lost odyssey which is the best jrpg ive played.. pretty close to star ocean 4. oh wait u wouldnt know what lost odyssey is because to u it's just a ps2 equal game huh? too bad ur missing out on one of the best... douche
Some of you are acting like you've never played games with great unique stories before. The con of having a predictable story is a legit con. Once you're used to great stories, you shouldn't care too much about predictable ones. Defending the game by saying the story is predictable in every game, is an insult to every game that has an original plot.
WRPG has taken so much attention recently, partially as XBOX360 has become the first next gen console released and they favor FPS and WRPG as action is intense and you get immediate satisfaction, that reviewers won't care about discovering a game and a world or levelling system like they should. Even for online play, if it's not ranking system and number of kills, it isn't interesting. WKC of course doesn't get their attention : 1) too easy combat : I still have to find a "difficult" JRPG, you don't many times as in FPS as you have 3 or more characters, you can rez them and heal them easily ; 2) unoriginal story : so what? like 90% JRPGs don't have the "same" story with an ambiguous main character with a dark secret, a fleeing princess, a silent bodyguard, a betrying friend, ... OK some of these elements have been seen millions of times, but it doesn't prevent from having an engaging story, 3) mazelike level design : yes, of course it's not linear like FFXIII, but has this guy played any Suikoden? or Chrono Cross? don't remember anyone saying it was bad because the maps were mazelike, it's there in all JRPGs and anyway you'll explore all these mazelike maps to find items anyway, it's part of the fun.
So I hope most people will buy the game not being influenced on these reviews.
