i've heard early 2010 from some website...cannot remember thoughI'm more excited about the motion controllers than anything else! I wonder if this will bring in more "casual gamers" like the Wii did? Btw, has Sony announced any kind of release date for them?

Oh ok, so we've probably still got a little ways to go before they come out.
I wonder how these will work. Will every game support both types of controllers, or will there be motion controller exclusive games and vice versa?
Sony definitely got it right with the PSP but I wasn't completely satisfied with what they showed for the PS3. Uncharted 2, GOW3, AC2... old news. The GT5 vid was just another trailer, MS already revealed MGSR, and Agent was mentioned for only a few seconds. The FFXIV announcement wouldv'e been big for me if I was a fan. A good show, but I was expecting more.
I really enjoyed both the Microsoft and Sony conferences but have to say I was more impressed with Microsofts. But seeing as my 360 isnt getting used anymore, I was more interested in what Sony had to offer. I was more impressed with some of the games coming out then the motion controlled wand thing. The Last Guardian looks amazing! I dont think a game has wowed me as much as that did. I have never played the previous God of War games but I will be buying number 3 after seeing that demo! And I cant wait till I get my hands on Uncharted 2. These games really did look great. Games that took my fancy from Microsoft would have to be Splinter Cell, Left 4 Dead 2, Halo ODST and Alan Wake. Overall a good E3 imo, Nintendo didnt show me anything that made me say wow, although I am perfectly happy buying the occasional game for my DS now and again.
True, by moving the PS3 into more of a casual gamer arena like the Wii they're opening up the possiblity of more systems sold moving forward. Not a bad business move. Also, marketing the PSP to the "tween" crowd with the Hanna Montana bundle can't hurt either.Sony re-established my confidence. they definately gave Microsoft a run for its money in this E3. I left with the impression that they are not done, not by a long shot! I liked it when the speaker said "We are not concerned being no. 1, but we want to give the best product."

I thought they did great, im excited about the future of the PS3. The sad part is now i have to get a job to actually buy these gamesNear_13Yea that's how you know whose E3 was best which ever conference makes you want to go get a job.
@mfarris. if you didn't find anything you liked from sony's confrence you might as well get into PC gaming (for your graphics fix). infamous is probably the best game out so far this year and it's graphics aren't even on my radar.
what ever happened to people caring about fun and overall quality before graphics?

Infamous was highly overated and not the top teir title I expected. I give it an 8. I don't get out of bed to play anything less then a 9, maybe 8.5. Infamous got really repetitive and made me yawn in boredom
I think all 3 had good showings but yea overall sony's was the better IMHO. The other two had a lot of stuff that bord me and just was not that enterasting. Ninty was weak untill they anounced SMG2 and the new metriod, M$'s stuff was meh sept for the MGS revieal and the motion tech but i was pretty much hooked all the way threw sonys. they def started way strongerthan the other two with the uncharted2. There motion control demo was more impressive to me. M$'s looked coolerin that you could just use your hands ectbut i just didnt see how that was going to translate for the type of games i like to play. i dont want to have to take tybo lessons to play a action game lol. Sony just showed more great games IMHO.
I feel like Sony had an incredible conference. The only complaint on my end is something I'm sure many others had... $250 for PSP Go?! Seriously, wtf, that's the same price as a Wii. Half the funds for a spiffy new 1080p TV. etc. etc. I guess I'll just have to be satisfied without a PSP for a good while longer.sublimeandetcyea that was my one real complaint. 250$ is IMHO WAY to much to ask for it. had it been a full on new psp, better graphics ect then i sould see it. but it plays the same games as the normal psp only you download them meh. not worth 100$ more IMHO. I have a feeling there not going to do so well with the psp go. i could be wrong but i dont think so ;)

your in the minority then ;) Infamous is IMHO one of the best games this gen. What? why not show it at E3? it builds hype that wayThere were way too much emphasis on PSP.
The motion sensor, though super awesome, should not be presented at this stage. But lucky for Sony, Rick and Anton were really, really funny and brought the monotonous presentation some life. So it wasn't all that bad.
Only good thing is The Last Guardian saved the day for PS3.
liinn
I think they only nailed it in terms of showing lots of games with actual gameplay.
What I think they failed in his having the same massive presentation that MS had. I mean, MS was able to show Multiplat games in a way that made them seem exclusive. They had the remaining Beatles for crying-out-loud! Sony on the other hand felt like a really long and slow presentation, and I felt like they wasted WAY too much time showing all those montages which are confusing and really don't give that much information other than "hey, we have games!"
But I think Sony showed a lot of good gameplay that we all wanted to see. They had some good announcements like Rockstar exclusive, although it would have been even better to at leat see SOMETHING other than a title. God of War looked amazing. Would have liked to see or hear more about HEavy Rain.
Personally, I felt like this E3 was one of the best I can remember in a long time. I've made MANY posts about how E3 has been pointless and sucked for at least 4 years, if not more. I think Sony did a really good job releasing/showing info but they could work on their presentation a bit.
Man there are alot of fanboys on here. I am a devoted Sony products person from tv's to game consoles but Sony's lack of quality and arrogance is getting old.
Their tv's suck, Their game system is supposed to be the most powerful but gets owned by the 360 and there games are not all that great. Since owning a PS3 I have felt all the first party game have been a dissapointment except Uncharted.
Lair=Lame, Heavenly Sword=sucked, Resistance= good but done better elsewhere, Ratchet and Clank=boring, Uncharted=good but not great, Folklore=lame,
Socom=letdown, GT5= a $40 demo, Resistance 2=Letdown, Killzone 2= good with crappy controls, Little Big Planet= A good game and original Idea but way not great, Motorstorm 2= zzzzzzzzzzz
Where are the supposed good PS3 games? The only games I find I like are 3rd party games and most of those are better playing or looking on 360. That's sad for a more powerful and expensive system.
Out of everything I saw on the Sony conferance only the Project Ico game looked original and fun game that I look forward to. All the rest? Been there, done that. Lame. Really a slap in the face for a loyal Sony consumer.

I personally enjoyed the Sony conference the most (saw all three). Even though some things Microsoft side looked great, I don't like it if you can clearly see that it's faked (like Project Natal the part where he scanned his board with hands on the downside which were away after scanning o_O?!?), I prefere Tech Demos. The Games Sony side interessted me more as well, this new cart game (damn, forgot the name) looks sweet, I like the easy looking way to make own areas. The God of War Demo looked increbible (is it comming to the Store soon?) and FF14 (even though a mmo) looked great
It blows my mind that some people out there didn't think that Sony nailed it this year. Between announcing an exclusive Rockstar Games title, ModNation Racers (easily a Day One purchase for me), showing MAG (which isn't my kind of game, but I acknowledge how amazing what their doing is), all of the PSP-related news, I mean they totally killed it. I missed Microsoft's showing, but from what I gathered their big announcement is that they're getting a game that we're also getting. Big whoop.
Not to mention that the tech demo for their motion controller looked more fun than anything the Wii has on their console NOW, lol.

I agree more with what you say then some of these kool aid drinking fanboys on here. Microsoft was good but I will pass on all these lame motion controllers.
I guarantee FF14 won't be exclusive to PS3. But then again I don't believe in paying monthly for a game I already own.

It's actually sad that they are trying to reach the playstyle of the Wii. It was funny to play a bit with the Wii, but it got lame with time. Same with Eye Toy on PS2. And so Natal and those Sticks from Sony will become. This Nilo (or whatever his name was) generates some kind of fear within me, I mean seriously, this is just another step of people to loose their social connections :/
About FF14, they actually staded in the conference that it is console exclusive, so it is comming to the PC most likely. I can think of a timed exclusive like XI was. Anyway, I will get it as I enjoyed FF11, even though I tend to spent to less time on MMORPGs in general
it waz iight...but it waz'nt all dat...although it was better than lasts years.....i really really REALLY want a new twisted metal game...we got sum new fotage of god of war 3 but so wut.....we all noe the game is comin out in the near future....still no GT5 release date...an MAG....HA....it looks like sumthing that waz developed in 1997.....FF14 was the biggest suprise 4 me...it smacked me rite in the face an called me a b*tch.....but its MMORPG so scratch that...i dont f*ck with those i do have a life outside gamesu noe.......lolzzzz...2 top it off dere chargin $12 a month....this new game agnet sounds intresting its also an exclusive...im hearin its action/espionage..i hope its not a nex MGS wanna b.....speaking of MGS...this new 1...wutz it called risin????....ifits a360 xclusive i wouldnt really give a sh!t coz MGS4 is still only on PS3....c'mon pplz its a spin-off it's not even tactical espionage action...kojima will have very little 2 do with this game...it probably will end up being a great game but it will never b MGS nothing will...MGS series is dead this is wut old snake saluting a grave in MGS4 represented i noe this coz im a die hard MGS fan...and as far as peace walker is concerned i dont c my self buyin another psp anytime soon...sony needs to calm down with the psp's on sum sh!t dere turnin the psp into the nex game boy.....thisis not bashing or anything this is just my vison of sony's e3 2009...can't wait 4 TGS 2009 till den im inFamous way man.............
I thought Sony did a fine job as well as Nintendo. Didn't really follow or read up on Microsoft much yet, but I was more interested in Sony and Nintendo from the beginning. I'm excited over FFXIII now, and am intrigued by FFIV. Now if WKC gets a release date I'll be a happy camper.

How in the world are you devoted to sony, when all u can give is complaints about them? i mean u gave 360 more compliments, 2 more to be exact. lol.I mean if i were you i would feel dumb saying that i loved sony but yet couldnt say anything good about them..
I think Sony did pretty good this year at E3 with the press conference. Some of the games I'm not really interested in, but God Of War 3 looked friggn awesome. I kind of stopped after finishing the first one, but I think I'll be looking to see what GOW3 has to offer.
That motion sensing thing wasn't new. But I was impressed by it's accuracy. Though, the camera and a controller is needed. Hopefully the final version will not need as much if it goes through. I think the technology still needs to be perfected personally, Wii or otherwise.
I still think MAG in the real world is a pipe dream. Especially with Zipper at that helm. But I guess we'll see. I want it to be as good as they say it's going to be, but past Zipper games (like Socom) in fact say otherwise. It looks good. But it's the stability and (lack of) support that I would be worried about with that game.
I couldn't help but feel that "Little Big Planet" racing game was just a rip on "Create your own Mario Kart" without the Mario part.
Personally I thought Microsoft had a better showing and I'm definitely thinking of buying an XBOX to have all 3 consoles. I think the combination of no really big surprises besides Final Fantasy XIV(which is probably going to be multi-plat), and agent(no footage) hurt sony due to all the leaked information. I though was really impressed by GOD of War 3 and Uncharted 2. I definitely think Sony just doesn't get it about pricing as they still want to sell their products at such a high cost compared to the competitors as represented by the PSP go. I do feel the PSP Go was a bigger hit for Sony at the conference due to the presentation and games announced but I feel the price will keep it's sales low. The motion control(it looked like a sex toy)while promising was a poorly executed demonstration as either that person they had trying to use it is so uncoordinated or the conrols are too oversensitive. I believe with Microsofts polished display of the their motion controls which seem unique but could be somewhat limited without a hand controller was a better demonstration and wonder if Sony just rushed out their presentation. I do believe that the WII did second best with all the classic games(super Mario, Metroid, SMG2)announced for end of the year and 2010.Well considering how much I do like the games that Sony has and how the economy is I might just keep with my PS3 and WII though theXBOX is getting more tempting(big library with cool new games announced like AW, Forza 3). I just want to wait for a more reliable model before going buying one. I love my PS3 but just feel their E3 showing was just poorly executed and lacked excitement compared to Microsoft with the Beattles and the Natal showing. Now do I think this showing kills Sony no but they really need to refocus on trying to get more attention to their product and price is the best way to start even if it is only $50 reduction.
ya i agree, it seemed to be less focused on PS3, and i was hoping for them to announce some downloadable content for europe, like the USA has had for some time. They didn't mention the music video library thing coming soon. i was hoping for more info, but i guess its only a certain amount of time.they did ok it was too much psp talk for me
uncharted & god of war were the only things interesting IMO
LURCH87
Eh, not enough surprises for my taste. I wanted to see some shocking new games I didn't know about. Something amazing out of nowhere. The only real surprise was FF14 but I don't care about MMOs. Some amazing footage of Assassin's Creed 2, Uncharted 2 and God of war 3 though. Oh, and I don't take anybody serious who's hyping those motion controls. This board is so full of hypocrites that it's hard to stomach. The Wii is a gimmick but Sony motion controls are suddenly TEH INNOVATION!nethernovaSony's controls are responsive, accurate and can actually be used in core games.

You are 100% correct and I feel the same way. Sony doesn't get it! If Sony was so great they would have much better sales and they are lagging behind by far. They are just arrogant and it is going to be their downfall
