Not too sure about how it was received back then, but I sure as hell enjoyed this PS1 game and I think it needs a PS3 sequel or remake. I kind of agree with the GS review of CC, it was a great game that came together well. Anyone else think so?

And for those who dont know it or dont remember it, look at this game intro... and remember this is from the PSx, it had awesomely rendered graphics in game and in cut scenes.

its definitely in my top3 but i think its still great at is and a remake would ruin it.
its just oo magical to preserve it again
I was there when it came out. It came out at the very end of the PSOne lifespan and most people were too excited about the PS2 to really notice it, but everyone else was super hyped and excited about it and claims it was amazing, but I feel like very few of them actually played it and thought so.
I was one of the latter, and while I like the game as a quirky and interesting RPG and think exploring parallel worlds is a fascinating concept, I don't think the game came close to matching it's spiritual predecessor, trigger, and things like the elemental field rings and the 40 characters you could get in your party just sort of made it more confusing than it needed to be. it didn't seem as streamlined as trigger, even though that game had a lot of optional quests and different endings too.
it's definitely a good game, and if you like JRPGs or are interested in parallel worlds theory it's worth playing, but it doesn't have enough memorably moments to be worth remaking. they should just make a third Chrono game.
HAH!
wow, thats really strange! I just ripped my old chrono cross discs for psx and put it on my psp! no joke, its only been like two days. I loved this game, but ive never been able to finish it. the first time i played my memory card got corrupt and i had to start over. the second time i tried going through my psx died. so now, hopefully ill be able to get through it on my psp without some catastrophic hardware failure!

[QUOTE="skizz47"]really? how do you rip the game to put on your psp? i never knew you could do that any info explaining how would be greatly appreciated.Zidaneski
He would be happy to tell you buuuuuutt......its illegal.
Not if you actually own the game like he does.
@skizz47: Look it up on google. It's against the rules to discuss homebrew/hacking.
Chrono Cross is one of the best games I've ever played. The thing that made me mad was after I finished it and did a new game plus, my memory card decided to die.
