Who is actually excited for a WW2 game? (iknow I am)

All this hate for Treyarch and the WW2 genre is making me sad. COD3 was one of my first games back on the other console before I got my PS3. Sure it doesnt pass COD4 in graphics or gameplay but it still had the simple fun factor. It would be one of those games that you could just pick up and play and never get bored. I frequently had friends over and unlike COD4 it had online splitscreen which was a blast.

At the time when I got this game it was only $10 which was a steal, I didnt know what to expect but I was amazed at how much fun I was having fun. And isnt that what games are all about?

Today the graphics are subpar, but not the worst. I still play it from time to time and think about which developers will make another true NEXTGEN WW2 game (currently looking out). Right now on my radar is Treyarches COD5 game. From what Ive been hearing it will most likely be WW2. I'll have to see an actual trialer for it and some gameplay to get me interested in it first but from then on ill be playing COD3 on my 360 and COD4 on my PS3 happily until the next COD5 comes out.

But I have one request to Treyarch and that is if this game is WW2 please dont take it to the pacafic, keep it in the Europe please cause killing Nazis never gets old.

Indeed, there's merchandising to be done! Atleast it'll be something new, because i myself can no longer stand WW2 games...

They said on Gamespot that COD5 will be on a new front. All the WW2 stuff is just rumoured (although I wouldn't be suprised).

I enjoy WW2 games, but I like when the developers take an extra step to give something new.

im really excited for the new brothers in arms game. the first two were outstanding and i really enjoyed its mastery of squad based tactics and using real world strategies- and i can only imagine how much more realistic the new game is going to be.

did you guys see that new trailer on the psn?? its been out online, but it looks amazing in hd.

Why are we still playing games based on a war which finished more than a half century ago??? And besides that the market is totally saturated of WW2 games that I think I can't stand any new one. C'mon developers, overcome your trauma with this historical event, please...biribis

Actually, I see it more as laziness these days. "Hey we can't come up with any ideas!" "Oh well, let's just make a WW2 game. Can't go wrong with that. Besides, ours will be original thanks to a new BLUE coloured Thompson we've added. It'll revolutionize WW2 gaming as we know it! Like that other company adding a parachute."
