I am :) 300 will dramitically increase the sale for the bluray this week and outselling its competitors. Who knows maybe people will decide to buy the PS3 for 300.

I can't wait to add this to my collection along with TMNT bluray on following Tuesday.

Out of topic, but anyone know when Borat is coming to Blu-ray? I want some high-definition sexy time!

I'm considering it, but I would like to read some reviews comparing the HD-DVD version to the BRD version. The nice thing about the HD-DVD version is that I can loan it out to friends who haven't bothered getting HD-DVD.

WTF? Why does the HDDVD version have exclusive content whereas the blu ray version doesn't?How is it that a dead format can have if not similar, thenbetterquality versions of HD movies than blu ray? Another thing that ticks me off is the list of upcoming blu ray movies, it's fenominal yetno movies im interested inhave release dates. Then you have others that have been pushed back and ones that have been announced since last year and still don't have a date of release. The funny thing is that both the ps3 and blu ray have very promising features, it's just you have to wait forever for them!

It will been soon. Universal has already stated that they were backing down from HD-DVD and soon to release Blu-Ray. This was announced a while back.

I have to admit, i'm actually kinda tempted to just save myself some money and buy this on a regular DVD if the movie is just gonna look grainy no matter what. I know thats how the movie is supposed to look but I was really looking forward to watching this with really crisp visuals in 1080p, but now it feels like the extra money spent will be at least somewhat trivial.

HD-DVD versions of everything are usually superior. IGN gave 300 HD-DVD a perfect 10 rating due to extra special features and stuff. I'm buying it on HD-DVD.

I thought this topic would be pretty good, then you have to mention a crappy movie like tmnt. Its like teenage mutant ninja turtles but if pixar made it. Problem with pixar is that all their movies have the same basic look to them, and the animation looks weird and unnatural.
Well I didn't like 300 that much when i downloaded it, I might give the blu-ray version a chance. Never know, better sound and picture could make me like it more. Though, the hd-dvd version is getting some extras the blu-ray version is not. Still, i could care less about extras *unless they're like enter the dragons, but no disc ever had such great of extras though*, so i'd go with the blu-ray versions.

300 sucked, I have no idea why anyone would like that movie. The only good parts were the fight scenes and even those were mediocre. But hey thats just my opinion.

Does anyone know if the cover art for the TMNT movie is what is shown in the pic on page 1 of this thread? I noticed on the futureshop.ca (Canadian electronics retailer) that they had a different pic up for the box art and it was hideous. I'm just curious if the one shown in this thread is in-fact going to be what is at retail. Also, is this movie any good? I didn't get to see it but I, like any other 90's raised child have a deep affinity for the turtles. Whats the word on this flick anyway?

dam it going to look like the psn movie trailer? There was so much grain it looks exactly like the dvd version, that pisses me off i wanted my first blu ray to be crisp clear.

And also to the post who said hddvd better cause of extras, you have to pay like8 dollars more for the hddvd version, and you get crappy extras that are not worth 8 bucks in my opinion.

Cap_n_Crunch

Most people liked it, but most deep fans of the live action movies or the 90s cartoon didn't. Like others, I hated the art style. I wanted it to look more like a 90s turtles cartoon show or even a live action movie, instead of a pixar movie look-a-like. Kindof dissapointed the villian isn't shredder, but the villans in this movie aren't that great either nor is the story. I won't ruin it for you, but it is a bit more so generic than even the live action turtles movies. The movie itself tries to be darker and more so serious, but a dumb joke comes up so often it can't be. Though, everybody has their own opinion.
