I'll be getting it for Blu Ray, but it'll probably just look better if I get it in HD. My 360 is hooked up to my 55" HDTV with a HD cable, but my PS3 is just hooked in with the cables that came packed with it, not even component cables. Not sure how this will effect it though, MotorStorm doesn't look as sharp as everyone has claimed it is, though Ninja Gaiden: Sigma looks damned good.Cysios
This post aggrevates me to no end. Get some damn HD cables!!

WTF? Why does the HDDVD version have exclusive content whereas the blu ray version doesn't?How is it that a dead format can have if not similar, thenbetterquality versions of HD movies than blu ray? Another thing that ticks me off is the list of upcoming blu ray movies, it's fenominal yetno movies im interested inhave release dates. Then you have others that have been pushed back and ones that have been announced since last year and still don't have a date of release. The funny thing is that both the ps3 and blu ray have very promising features, it's just you have to wait forever for them!
HD-DVD versions of everything are usually superior. IGN gave 300 HD-DVD a perfect 10 rating due to extra special features and stuff. I'm buying it on HD-DVD.
Riiiight. Have you seen Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2 on blu-ray? If not, go get them. Now!

Pirates isn't on HD-DVD to compare the two. This isn't just a personal opinion, the guys over at AVS tested this stuff. Really, the only thing thats missing that would get HD-DVD back into the war are all of Universal's Spielburg flicks you know?
Blu-Ray has a great picture, there is no doubt, and its the winning format by far. But if I had the choice...I usually go with the HD-DVD versions because
1. They double as DVD
2. Extra features
3. Sound and visuals are a tad bit better (most times).
300 is no exception to me. I hope IGN reviews the Blu-Ray version soon.
TMNT for bluray will rocckkk =D!!!
but 300 sucked neway so i wont be getting that....its actually not all that much fun to watch twice...cuz then u realise the problems with all the "spartan tactics" being just bs lol. but hey i still saw it in theaters...its a one time thng only man.
I'll probably pick up both. But also a good flick was released last week, "The Host," maybe a rental, but it does seem like a must see with it being 92% at rottentomatoes and the positive buzz about it:

Not sure if I'll like 300. I liked the previews, but I notice a lot of films lately are increasingly violent, not something I particularly look forward to. If I had to pick up one movie, I'd probably get Host first. Shocked though when an artist at work was cutting out a 300 photo for the home release and I walk up and say 300, and she responds "300 of what" :) We were all shocked she couldn't even recall trailers of this movie, even as she was cuting out some spartans in a movie still. We didn't push it on her since she doesn't like violent stuff.
TMNT is a must no matter if it's not that great because I grew up with it, even recall standing in line to see the live action movies with the line wrapping around the theater. And this, depsite the pixar look, is probably closer to the original than the recent tv show that I never watched more than one or two episodes.
hopefully i can get my dad to buy a bluray player/ps3 for our 46" 1080P Sharp Aquos LCD....
it would be beautiful.

Not really. The picture is so darn grainy it almost doesn't even look artistic, rather just kinda bad. I alsmot wish I would've just bought the DVD.
