agreed a younger clint eastwood would rock. and vin diesel is not a decent action actor anymore.... at all.

Although Eric Bana, hugh Jackman, Jason Statham are all good in their own right, it would have to be Christian Bale. The man pulls off any role he sets himself to do. He is one of the most dedicated actors in the biz, willing to lose 60 pounds for a role like the Machinist, then turn around and bulk up for Batman. He does equally well with action (Batman, Equilibrium, Reign of Fire, 3:10 to yuma) or Drama (Prestige, American Psycho, Machinist). Plus, we know he's interested in the role, he mentioned it in an interview.
If the Metal Gear Solid movies is set around the time of MGS4, then Tommy Lee Jones for the older Snake, if younger, then Viggo Mortensen (eastern Promises, History of violence), or Sacha Baron Cohen or Josh Hutchersen (I kid on Sacha and Josh).

Hideo should play Snake...he's the only one that understands him. Quick! Somebody photoshop Hideo into Snake's body (I wish I had photoshop...actually I do but I'm too lazy to move to the other computer)!
god tough call id say david hayter for his voice! but his acting isnt at all great lol but if uget someone in to play snake and look the part and sounds like a ponce? gonna ruin the flick
