I have no faith in companies.
Although I do believe Sony isn't even close to being "doomed" just because Final Fantasy went multiplat.
I'm more excited Sony is introducing new material than always hearing about sequals.
I mean don't get me wrong, sequals are great. but new IP's sound yum
Yeah I still have faith in Sony. I got my PS3 back in March and have loved it since the day I loaded up Uncharted. They get it right every console they do.
And the reason the 360 never appealed to me? Probably the most stupid of reasons but here it is...I don't like the controllers. They're too big and clunky. But please don't take this as bashing, its just my personal opinion of them.
I guess people are worried Sony will lose more 3rd party support in the future.
I think people are still in shock and not really appreciating what we got to see. We know that GOW3 is in the works which is awesome, and I thought MAG looked very interesting too. Same goes for Infamous.
With Infamous, LBP, Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2, GOW3, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, FFXIII versus and probably more, PS3 still has some awesome exclusives. And with a plethora of multiplays aswell, PS3 is still a sweet system to own.
I enjoyed the conference..I'm an mmo fan of sorts so I'm looking forward to games like DC-Universe and Agency. I've never considered myself big on FPS games..I'm on of few that tried COD4 for 3 minutes then turned it off and traded it....but I'll say this...Resistance 2 rocked my world!. I liked what I saw of LBP, the movies are a nice addition, and FOR ME PERSONALLY..I can't wait for the next PAIN level. I'm still playing FFXIII on the better platform IMO regardless of wherever else it goes. And also Soul Calibur IV..I mean come on, Yoda is cool and all but PS3 owners DEFINITELY got the better cameo character with Darth Vader IMO.
Overall, I'm a very happy PS3 owner right now. For the legion of the miserable out there that think the PS3 is done, I just hope they go ahead and sell their systems so that I encounter less newbs online :) It's a win-win situation for everyone that way.
Cheers!

I don't like the controllers either but the reason I never got an xbox was cause I heard about hardware failure and the best games it has are all rated M. I'm 20 but c'mon, the massive amount of blood and gore in its games has obviously affected its players.

"One of their biggest." No. That WAS their biggest exclusive. And Sony was too stupid to keep it.Symphonycometh
This game could have done more for PS3 than MGS4 world wide IMO.
"One of their biggest." No. That WAS their biggest exclusive. And Sony was too stupid to keep it.Symphonycometh
Why do exclusives even matter so much, people? We still get the same game, but we keep the fact how PS3 is still a better graphical powerhouse then Xbox. Let's not be so damn greedy, "it's just a game"...

Maybe with ONE perspective, but you're forgetting the bigger picture. A few other posters on Gamespot understand the reasons why "Exclusives" can easily be good things. Not about greed. I don't like the controller, either.
omg lol you can tell people are fan boys or whatever when they whine about losing an exclusive, it'd be a completely different story if it went 360 exclusive but it didn't... i still have faith in sony because like they said in their press conference they think long termSteve_psOh, for the love of...

Some of these people, i swear, are the tourettes guys of video gaming. Why does any PS3 person care that FF is going to xbox? its not like it will be exclusive for them..
I support sony 100% and I think what they brought at e3 was better than anyone else i had seen, because they brought games for the most part, and did not make the console firmware into something idiot-friendly.

Okay... Back yourself up >_>
Why are exclusives such a good thing?
i don't understand the assumption that Sony fans were dissapointed with the press conference. i thought it was great. so FFXIII isn't exclusive. it's not the end of the world. the PS3 still has a ton more exclusives lined up this year than the 360 does, anyway.fmobliv06exactly, i like your thinking, lets be friends

Its beyond me how anyone could accept the press conference as good. Yeah you don't expect to hear bad things during a companies press conference and you never do (like increasing the price of a console). But when a company doesn't have any good news then there is a reason to be upset and when it is like this every year and MS at least brings something to the table whether it be stealing an exclusive game or creating free DLC for a game or an exclusive beta or whatever it is at least they bring something to the table which sony doesn't seem to understand this.

sorry, but how can a multitude of new games and a bunch of info on games we already knew were coming out be misconstrued as no good newsOkay...Because I've explained this one too many times in the past, I'll make it a very...very...short summary in contrast to how long I usually rant: Basically, Exclusives on all consoles can possibly demonstrate that console's power at it's best. Dual platforming, to me, I have not seen capitalize on that aspect like Exclusives have. Gears of War, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid 4. Super Mario Galaxy. All of these games capitalize on what each console can do and usually bring forth the best experience each console can do. Gears bought a new experience to the 360 owners as well as made devs take the box seriously. Metal Gear Solid 4 shows that the PS3 DOES have impressive power under the grill. Assassin's Creed, a crossplatform game, is a showcase of the word "Compromise" for both consoles. GTA4. If it had been for the 360 or PS3 exclusively, no doubt it would've enriched the experience. The other reason would of course be the "individuality" thing between the box and the grill. The last one, more so for the PS3, is that people actually wanted the PS3 to catch up so devs can show more support for the ones that don't own a 360. More games to choose from really. Final Fantasy XIII would've jump started the PS3's sales seeing that it was exclusive...until now. Sony indeed shot themselves in the foot, and catching up now is no longer a matter of time, but once again, just like how this gen began, hope. Very optimistic hope. And now, to conclude this in a happier note: @ codalloo : lol. I was surprised! :lol:SymphonycomethYou make a good point yet I find it hard to believe that FF13 alone would have been the epitome of the Ps3's game library judging as how we havent seen much gameplay and we havent even seen alot about many of the games yet to be released we, or at least I, cant judge that FF13 wouldve been the greatest PS3 game, the PS3 still has many opportunities to make itself be taken seriously and Sony isnt done yet, dont get me wrong I wholeheartedly respect your opinion but I dont agree with it all the way.
SymphonyCometh Im tracking your contributions because I like your style:D
I've always enjoyed Sony, from the PlayStation, Playstation2, Playstation3.
Before the fanboys start flamming their torches, yes I have played a xbox, that was years ago and I didn't really like it. I played Halo on it and I'm still yet to understand the hype about that game.
I actually thought Sony's show went pretty well. But that's probably cause most of the shock from FFXIII was gone AND it came right after Nintendo's (talk about having no faith left...)
I've very excited for Little Big Planet, Home, and all of the trophy support. MAG also seems like it will be crazy awesome. 256 players in the same game! Absolutely amazing. They seemed to have a lot of good stuff on their hands. I'm not surprised they didn't show off any Square Enix games though...
Well I would track your contributions if your profile wasnt private, sheeshcodallooBuahahaha. It's just that when I rant, I sometimes get trackers EN MASSE'. lol. So I tried to put in on private at first...and took it off afterwards...apparently, Gamespot doesn't know that I did. :| I'll just track you. :P
I agree with you 100% and there's one thing we can all agree on, Nintendo's presentation definitely left something to be desired.I actually thought Sony's show went pretty well. Actually, i am worried for MS, eventually they will run out of ideas and games to steal, then they will be in deep S**T and wont know what to do.
Sony on the other hand is full of innovative idea's and isnt afraid to lead the pack. How many games has MS either copied or tried to get multiplat from sony?
Had MS actually introduced a new IP i *might* have been impressed, as far as i am concerned they failed, they did however buy their way into a ps3 game, so i guess they had one piece of good news.
