I just picked up a PS3 for my brother yesterday.  The box was clearly identifiable through the thin EB bag and I counted at least 5 guys staring at it as we walked out of the mall.  I don't think anyone doesn't want a PS3 unless it's just not their flavor.

They were actually trying to summise whether they could roll you, grab the PS3, get in their vehicle, and make a quick getaway without been seen and/or caught.

Believe me, I was pretty shocked to be getting these looks yesterday considering I didn't get nearly as many when I walked out of the same EB on launch with my 60GB.

Only mindless fanboys don't want a ps3, and even many of those mostly likely are just sheilding their jeaousy with anger and/or indifference. Everyone wants a ps3, its just that many can't afford one. As an owner of one, i can tell you, it is DEFINATELY worth it.

I just picked up my PS3 yesterday with Resistance. I actually bought Resistance before buying my PS3. But luckily they had some PS3s available. I've only had my PS3 for one day and it's awesome so far. The console looks great and the online service is also good. It's no XBL, but there's alot of potential in the future with updates from Sony and it's free. I'm also having a blast with Resistance. Oh yeah, my PSN ID is TripSwitch if anyone wants to play some Resistance. I have no friends with a PS3...........

Yes I'm ashamed, ashamed that I have one of the most reliable and quietest systems on the market, I'm ashamed that I have a system that looks at it's faults and corrects them (firmare updates). I'm ashamed of a system that will have a compelling title in EVERY genre besides FPS (games like singstar, even though I have no intentions of purcahsing, but it's there) And lastly, I'mvery ashamed of having to answer soooo many questions regarding the PS3 (how fun is it? does it do this and that? how did you get your hands on one at launch? etc.) So here's to the other proud ashamed PS3 owners who'll soon be a part of "Home".......

Heh. When my local Best Buy got a shipment at New Year, I went in just to browse around, and saw them displayed right at the entrance. I ran up and grabbed up (I don't know why, there were probably about a dozen there :P ), and this other guy that had come in with me exclaimed "Oh damn!" rather loudly, and grabbed one too. We both quickly retired to the Playstation 3 games and accessories aisle, chitchatting for a little bit about it. After all the negative buzz and hooplah on the internet I tend to drown in, it was nice to actually see someone super amped about picking up a Playstation 3. I talked him into purchasing Resistance: Fall of Man - He owned a PS2 and loved it, but hadn't read too much about the games available - and he snagged another controller while he was it. I already had the games, so I just the console. :x Still, good times. Also, I didn't get robbed, even though I had my hand on my knife the entire way out to my car. >_> A boyscout is always prepared, or something...

I'm loving my PS3. Now that more games are being released for it, I'll love it even more. I think you'll find that most people who stated they are "Ashamed" of themselves for buying a PS3 either... didn't do the research into the system to know when the games were comming out... or never owned one to begin with and are simply trolling.

Anyone who bought a PS3 shouldn't feel dissapointed.  Launch titles are never really worth owning on a Playstation console.  Sadly, you have to wait but the PS3 will have a long life filled with great games.  It just takes time.

I have 3 games for mine, plus my entire catalog of ps2 games to play on it. WTH would I be ashamed of buying one. The console is a beast, and although its kind of rough going right now, its definitely worth the money to have it. It is for sure something that you have to look at it as a future investment. But this month, the investment starts paying off.
