im sure most people with a HDTV will. because unlike xbox, ps3 doesnt come with component cables. so anyone who bought component cables pretty much lost out. HDMI is the way to go!

And you win the award of screwed consumer. All HDMI cables are the same. There could be a break in the cable for the guy above having sound issues, but assuming the cable isn't broken they are all the same. So spend 10-15 bucks at bluejeans cable or monoprice.

Person with sound issue - have you tried changing your hdmi sound settings to make sure they match what the tv can do??

Couple things can be better. First is if you use a cable at long distances, say 10ft and up, you will lose picture if you buy a cheap hdmi cable. Also, cheap cables often aren't 1.3 version, which is future proof.

Mine has an HDMI and it looks great and it doesn't have any sound issues. But sometimes when its changing from the 1080i of the PS3's menu it gets blurry and I can't see anythin, and sometimes I have to turn off the T.V. or the PS3. Do I have to change the HDMI or the PS3 or the TV? Whatever it works 95% perfect. Looks great with a 32" inch TV.

Mine is also hooked up via hdmi, its sooo cool because a buddy of mine who is an outside tech for Verizon and on occasion comes over and plays some PS3 was out on a job and the customer happened to have a PS3. Long story shortmy boynoticed the guy was using compsite and said to him you most definitely need to be using a hdmi cable, well the guy said that he didnt have one, my boy went to a little store and got a cheap $15 or $20 hdmi cable brought it back to the guy, hooked it up and the guy was amazed by the difference. If you have not experienceda PS3 connected via HDMI your most definitely missing out....

HDMI's awesome, great picture. i recommend one for about $8 on newegg.com. some PS2 games have sound issues with the HDMI, but then u can always hook up ur component cables to a stereo and jsut have separate audio and video cables

Yeah i do, but explain why FIFA 08 looks better on the X360 through component, than my PS3 through HDMI. Guys serioulsy dont listen too much to this crap being spun by everyone.

I havent tried PS3 through composite/component cables yet.

I though thought FIFA 08 would be on par as per review. either way.

I personally think that the content atm, might not comparatively convey a difference big enough to whats available, whether that be the hardware or the software.

Ijust got an HDMI cable not to long ago.

Odley enough, on the box the TV said it can only go up to 720p, yet when I hooked it up to HDMI, it went to 1080i. strange.

i bought a hdmi moster for 10 bucks, from amazon, well after a few weeks, once i play a movie or game, sound cuts of for a quick second, and then back to the sound again, is it my cables? should i buy another cable and find out if thats the case, and this matter doesnt happen to me all the time, just once in a while, sometimes its annoying

Component isn't hdcp compliant so it is not future proof. HDMI keeps the stream digital and therefor the picture will be better...

Great that you have a nice tv - I have had my HDTV for five years and besides all discussions here and other places agreeing with me I simply know that I know more than you on the subject. Do a little reaserch and you will find that you wasted money following the advise of a Best Buy employee... Kind of like gamespot employees saying MGS4 is coming to the xbox :)

Don't feel to bad - I did the same mistake with my first cable - at least that was a component so you can argue the difference....

I do but my sound runs through optical to my surround unit. I have always been a big fan of the optical sound performance compared to the others, but thats just me.
