I'm kind of wondering the same thing. Just got my PS3 last week so I'm still learning about thing's to do with PSN and have wondered the significance of trophies as well.

I've yet to see any point in Home, although I enjoyed bowling for a short time before it became...well, obviously, boring. And the only point I can see including trophies in Home is to see how many people you can insult before getting reported, or how much money you'd like to waste on the ridiculous furniture.

No, i guess what supa_badman means about it's usage in Home is that Home will be using the trophies as exchange for stuff, just like the xbox points or something. By trophies i mean those that you get from playing other games, not that you collect in Home, that would be ridiculous.

I see your point. Evn then I wouldn't trade in any of my trophies I earned for that p.o.s, even if you could just get them again

I love achievements on Xbox 360 and it was nice to see that they added as similar feature to PS3...

But, I kinda wish they had just left it alone, I liked PS3 being the system without all this.

No trophies =/= nor will they EVER equal microsoft points. There might be some little plushie for getting a plat trophy in a game in home or something but they wont ever be a currency that you can spend stuff with ....

We're both missing something. I could care less, same with Achievements on 360. I never look at my trophies.

Well with Home and trophys and what not else they will be adding. It's just like Xbox 360's acheivments. But if you haven't heard soon they will be giving a reason to collect trophys so like the high levels they will get downloadable content more then people who hardly have trophys. So a level 1 would just get the normal downloadble demo's etc etc. Whilst a level 30 would be getting beta's for games like Resistance 2 beta and testing and all that fancy stuff. So I will be looking forward to that.
