seriously i mean why do pple get mad at me/others for being a true fan to sony? its just stupid, i mean i luv the red sox and when i say they are my favorite team and when i say they are the best when me and a buddy are debating ii never once hear "did you get your check from the red sox yet?" or i never hear this " hey dude why cant you just like all teams and play nice?" its gay if you ask me cuz im a sony fan and i dont wanna be with M$ crap and thats my choice and to all the people who hate fanboys do you like all the basketball teams in the NBA? cuz if you like just one im sorry but your a fanboy, have a favorite kind of fast food? well sorry your a fanboy!!! well i guess alls im saying is that its not bad being a fanboy (sony fanboy that is) and i shoudnt get crap cuz of it. and if you dont like it when i say somthing that would fit with the description of a fanboy what are you going to do? seriosly? send me a message with an angry face and a message that will haunt my dreams?

It's great to have pride in your favorite console, favorite game series, favorite sports team, I'm all good with that. What is sad, however, are the fanboys of other consoles who come onto this Playstaion 3 board EVERY DAY and night and post in multiple threads only negative things about PS3. I mean, I sometimes think that some of these people, you know who you are, who we all see on here every friggen day spouting negativity on any and all PS3 related news/ topics, I mean I sometimes think these people are getting paid by M$ as part of a viral marketing campaign. I mean, I sure hope they are getting paid for the time they are wasting cause it is really sad if they are spending so much time on this board every day for free. I mean, you do have other options, you can start posting on the xbox board, or you can actually play Gears of War on your system, unless you are actually bored to death with it by now.

So basically you are saying that unless you are playing a contact sport or some others like tennis, badminton and the likes then you cant be a fan of something?

I love Audi and hate most of the Fords models, Im a fan of Audi. Is it wrong? Was I wrong for being a fan of a car during the F1? or the Rallies? 

Being a fan of a technologically thing is not wrong, in fact is part of human nature. You are proud of the stuff you have, since they make you different. You are pround of a football team like, lets say Barcelona and you get the exact same feedback as if you were watching a car race or owning and playing a console. Its the same thing. We are fans of a game and a console, and behind that game/console there are people, to whom we are actually fans, though we dont know them. I dont know 90% of the football players from the UEFA but I can be a fan of the team, of the flag, of the CONCEPT/ IDEA. Arent you patriot? dont you love your country? Its the same thing, only that in this last one it is on a bigger concept.

 System Wars would be the best place for this.

There is a HUGE difference between being a sports fan and being the fan of a console.  For starters sports are all about teams competing against each other.  If they didn't compete there would be no sports.   Your situation of being a fan of Sony and not of MS would be a lot more like being a fan of basketball and trash talking football.

Consoles are about playing games.  You should just be a fan of games.

I'm a true Sony fan too and I'm proud of it.  Although I'm a big Yankees fan and really don't like the Red Sox... so not with you on that one lol.  I wouldn't call myself a fanboy because fanboys don't see the facts sometimes that go against their supported console and that's just ignorance.  I just support Sony by buying their consoles and playing their games.  I am also a fan of the Nintendo DS though, personally in the portable gaming genre, I think Nintendo has Sony beat and always will but in a home console, no question about it.  There will always be fanboys for all consoles and that's just how it'll be, everyone just has to learn to get along with each other.

I can call myself a fanboy aswell even though I own a game cube and am interested in the xbox elite.

The problem is that there are two different people who game;

the fan boys and the people who are fan boys and constantly concise each other that they are not. 

But sometimes the fanboys can be dicks just as much as the people who are fanboys in denial so that is where the steriotype of the fan boy came from.  

Why don't I like fanboys? Well most are ignorant tools!  That's pretty much it for me.
