It's a mystery is what it is. While we're at it, why can't my CD player play PS1 games?BenderUnit22
Lol.
N1 wiseguy.
Hmn did you call Sony customer support? Myb the DVD player is broken...
Anyways back to the real world... Xbox 360 wont read anything but Xbox 360 games, PS3 wont read anything but PS3 games, and PC wont read anything but PC games... (A hint: PS3 games have "Playstation 3" written on the left side of the box, while X360 games have a white area on the top and "Xbox 360 writen inside the white area...)

i feel that the mockery that has been given to me for starting the thread is just to mask the fact that nobody knows the answer, so now who's laughing?
nert why doesnt my disc tray double as a cup holder?!?!? IM CALLING MICROSOFTicelamp#
actually it can double up as a cup holder if the cup was big enough, HOWEVER, the ps3 does contain a DVD player but mysteriously xbox360 games (DVDs) don't work
I'm laughing... who else.i feel that the mockery that has been given to me for starting the thread is just to mask the fact that nobody knows the answer, so now who's laughing?

YOU HAVE TO BE JOKING well if you bought a ps3 in theory it could play....well basically anything, buutt unfortunately companies like to make this stuff called money! they do this by saying...this game works on this console...this game can work on this console...etc now for the love of god, shoot yourself in the face, you dont deserve those organs :|i feel that the mockery that has been given to me for starting the thread is just to mask the fact that nobody knows the answer, so now who's laughing?

I'm just going to assume your serious and lay some knowledge on you, Ready?
1. The PS3 is made by Sony and games are created for the PS3 to sell the PS3.
2. The 360 is made by Microsoft and games are created for the 360 to sell the 360.
3. Bothe companies compete with each other for your money.
4. There is code in both systems to allow a game to launch on that specific console. (not going into detail here, trying to keep it simple)
5. If Sony supplied the ability to launch Xbox or Xbox 360 games you can bet they would be sued by Microsoft.
1. surely microsoft would want ps3 gamers to buy xbox 360 games as it would eventually phase out the ps3
2. this 'code' why can't the ps3 understand it is an xbox 360 game and bypass it
3. is there any proof to suggest this 'code' exists
4. why was the 'code' exist, it doesn't seem to serve any good

No.
[QUOTE="makavelithedon2"][QUOTE="jeremiah06"] OK, you seem like an idiot, but thats OK... I'm going to break it down for you nice and simple. THE PS3 CAN"T PLAY 360 GAMES FOR THE SAME REASON YOU CAN ORDER A BIG MAC AT BURGER KING MICROSOFT OWNS THE 360 IF SONY LET US PLAY 360 GAMES ON THE PS3 THEN THEY WOULD INFRINGE UPON MICROSOFTS RIGHTS SO THEY"D GET SUED jeremiah06
yes but burger king dont have the big mac recipe whereas the ps3 does contain a DVD player
How many times must i rephrase the same question
I wonder if it's me thats the idiot
Ahh this is checkmate my unintelligent friend. The PS3 does not have the processor, graphics chip, or programming techniques that the xbox 360 has. All of which is required to play a specific game type. Don't believe me check out the hardware list of both systems you'll see that they are both different. Your mistake(very idiotic mistake) was that you assumed that a dvd player was all that required to play a 360 game and its just not the case. You lack the common sense that a 12 year old would have.Yeah, what he said. DVD players have the tech to play DVD's, but a 360 have different hardware insdie that allows it to play 360 games with a different internal make up then Wii and PS3. Wii can't play movies, but it can play games so yeah tech is more complex then you think.

2. where does the 'code' come into this

1. I make this judgment from the what is apparent to me from A. Reading books on law. B. Taking computer hardware classes in college. C Not being an idiot. 2. What code do you speak of I never stated anything about a code I was referring to the hardware this site has the hardware specs check them out for your self.[QUOTE="SPYDER0416"]

yes but the ps3 has better if not samespecs:
xbox: 500mhz gpu ps3: 550 mhz gpu
xbox: 3.2 Gghz CPu ps3: 3.2 ghz Cpu etc.
the question is not why can't burger king sell a big mac, but why can't a larger more successful mcdonalds sell a big mac when a smaller mcdonalds franchise can
i thought the question was why cant the ps3 play 360 games? Please Log In to post.
