Why did you buy a PS3?!?

 blu-ray player, free online play, HOME, FF series, MGS and because it have a lot of potential

1. Great exclusive titles coming in a few months and the upcoming year
2. Ability to use one of many available HDMI slots in my household and provide the best possible picture and audio for my systems with an HDMI 1.3 output
3. Cheap Bluray player (I have a library of 20 or so Bluray movies)
4. Upgradable hard drive (I save money in the long run if I chose to upgrade [which I did])
5. Backwards compatibility with PS1/PS2 games
6. Interconnectivity between the PSP
7. Interconnectivity between other storage mediums
8. Great hardware to support the future gaming
9. IMO Best looking console out there

nailed it!!! but I also got it so early after my 3 360s die now I only get multiplatform games on ps3, just wish ubisoft would fix their act!

I just baught mine for two reasons.

1.I wanted to upgrade from PS2 to PS3. (That's what i did when PS1 was out)

2.The Japanese market supports Nintendo and Sony more than Microsoft. So, i feel like there will be some interesting games coming up in the future for the PS3. It happened for PS2, and it'll happen for PS3.

nothing supports 7 controllers. and even if they did, you could simply not play with 6 other ppl on one screen.

Because:

Wii won't have the games that I like and the games are more party-like to me (not trying to bash the Wii)

360 was kind of old and didn't have all the features and functions of a PS3.

It left me with the Ps3.

Socom Rules all and hopefully well see it at E3 07

I bought it for some main reasons:

I was a huge ps2 fan, so i cant wait for some of their signature titles like Tekken coming out on the ps3.

Revolutionary games and graphics: It will take some time for developers to decipher the ps3's innner workings, but once they do, the ps3 will kill.

 The main reason::::  The xbox 360 is like a gaming computer. The Ps3 is like an entirely new console. Im not saying the 360 is wrose, im saying the ps3, in time, will become revolutionary. 

 360 games are waaaaayy to shiny. If you've ever noticed, almost every 360 game has wierd shiny effects for some reason. Not the realistic shader effects on Motorstorm or Resistance. 

Well Ive always looked at the pros and cons of each console

I always look at what could deliver more for me personally

Back when the SNES was around I chose that over the Megadrive cos it had more buttons on the controller. And as a kid I though wow you can do more! haha

Then when Playstation came out I decided that over everything else cos it could play cds. I chose the PS2 cos it could play dvds and because it came out before the xbox. And now I chose to get the PS3 for the fact it had Blu-ray. And the fact that it is backward compatible. Oh yeah and cos it looks better LOL

Well just like everyone else said, Sony's reliable and I was really diggin' Lair, Warhawk, Resistance, MotorStorm, MGS4, and FF. Im not sure if i missed any excusive titals, but i know i got the really big ones :D

But i dont agree with the Fugly part, the PS3 looks better than a Black or White box (Xbox 360) or weird lopsided rectangle(Wii)

i just bought mine this weekend because, well, i always buy every console pretty much. I have a wii(dont ever play it really), a 360 which i love, a badass new pc, and now a ps3.

Dispite its slow start, I am sure the ps3 will hold its own against the other consoles. So far I love motorstorm, that game is just pure fun though I know its short. And so far, I am enjoying RFOM's story, even if i hate playing fps on consoles. And no, the game doesnt hold a candle to Gears of war, but it still is a great game.

Anyways Im enjoying my ps3 so far, and I cant wait for more games to come out later this year.

Basically if youre looking to make the best investment ps3 is it. People may whine now but over the lifespan of a console it will prove to be the best. I got mine on launch day and im very pleased so far. Its only getting better too!!

wireless connection to the internet (Wi-Fi) - $100 FOR THE ATTACHMENT WHO WANTS WIRES?

blue ray player - $199 FOR THE UGLY XBOX ATTACHMENT

60 gig hard drive - 40+ $ OR SO FOR A SMALL HARD DRIVE FOR XBOX

hdmi compatability - NOT EVEN AVAIL.....TRUST ME MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

 free ONLINE - 50$ A YEAR I THINK? NOT TWO MUCH 10 YEARS IS 500$ (how long do you want your system?)

All this for $100-200 more than the xbox 360? So what is Xbox doing, making a new machine that all of these people are gonna trade in their old xbox for a new one. Then they will be paying more for their xbox than anyone did for a PS3. Dont get me started on real value. When things catch up Sony will show everyone what real value is in a system.

I was on my third 360 and was tired of dead 3 red light 360's

so I traded it on a whim for a PS3 just wish there were more great games on it.
