I dumped Nintendo and their N64 and ran off with Sony and it's PS1(exceptthe one time I cheated and got aDreamcast) and been loyal to it every since because it treats me right. Just never enjoyed the XBox, it smells funny.
got sick of paying 5 quid to play online with the xbox 360. also liked the idea of a blu-ray player!!! now the only way you will get my ps3 off me is by prizing it from my cold dead fingers!!! HAHA :D
I bought a PS3 because it was the cheapest Blu-ray player on the market and I'd had an HDTV for 18 months. I bought the PS3 at launch when the next cheapest Blu-ray player was $1,000. I own a few games for my PS3, but the 360 is my main gaming console.
At the time I bought it (probably a little less than a year ago) it was the same price as the cheapest blu-ray player on the market. I figured I might as well get the PS3 in case any games came along that I wanted to play. Up until LBP and Killzone 2 came out, the only game I owned for the thing was MGS4. So over the course of a year I probably used it for gaming for about a week. Its basically a blu-ray player.

In reality, I would've gotten a PS3 anyway eventually (Cause I'm staying 'mostly' loyal to Sony since I owned both a PS1 and PS2 :)), but if it wasn't for that review I had to write- I wouldn't have gotten my PS3 when I did.
Well I was a PC only gamer for many many years.I have a qutie good and expensive PC sys atm.Anyway I got a PS3 (and an hdtv for that matter) becouse I was so damn tired of so many amazing game that never found their way on the PC. +I had some extra money at the time :P
i felt that it was the best deal. it has wireless, bluray, and rechargeable wireless controllers. also, i like the metal gear series and a bunch of ps3 exclusive series.
I was gonna wait for a price drop to get one until I found out they were dropping the backwards compatability. So I hunted down a 80gb MGS bundle. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it so early.
Because sony was discontinuing all BC PS3s and I wanted to get one before they were gone. I wouldn't have bought it but when they released the MGS4 bundle it was $100 off, I couldn't resist. What a waste, the 80GB's PS2 BC sucks, I hate them. On the positive side, at least it isn't guarenteed to break down after 1 year, it will probably last 2 which seems to be a luxury nowadays.

Due to myself getting cancer and missing 7 months off school, my school decided (with some help of my friends suggesting it) to pay £200 towards my 80 gig PS3 so I'd have something to do while I was at home. because i got the three rings of death on my 360 got that fixed traded it in and put the 180 i got from that to the money i already had and got a new ps3 im glad i got it best system ever

this guy in the game's store convinced me to buy it although I was inclined to get 360 . But now I kinda regret it cuz I loved gears of war on the 360 and there is no match for it in the ps3 system
I had just gotten the RROD with my 360. I walked into Wal-mart with 100 bucks in my wallet and 360 (Ironic isn't it?) dollars in my refund for it. I needed a new console, I knew a lot about the PS3, I could afford it, so I got it. It was a good day.
