why did you buy the PS3 ??

cuz the system design, blu-ray, games (especialy FF, MGS, GofOWr series), mine can plays ps2 games too ... now, just love it

it had a good library of games at the time and a great line up of games comeing out, reliabilty, blue ray, great HDD up grade posabiltys,free online,they were on sale for 299.99 at the time. just the resones i could think of right now

I bought the PS3 because I really liked the exlusives.

I bought the PS3 because of the games, everything else is a plus. Also, I heavily enjoyed my PS2 and it seemed right to get the PS3. :)

Originally, I brought a Xbox 360 and because of the RROD had to swap it out four more times. Since I wanted a gaming console I brought a PS3 instead of swapping out another failed 360. I was hoping that the PS3 library would grow, liked the blu-ray feature, and the free online play. Now, if I was a gamer looking for my first console the PS3 would be my preferred system. The only draw back to the new 80g model is no BC. But it is a solid console, with free online play, instant hardware updates, a growing community, and a much improved library of games to choose from.

Cuz its more reliable than the 360, free online, cheap blueray player and i have a ps1 and 2 so might as well get the 3. My bundle also came with 2 games and a HDMI cable for 399.99 so it was worth it =D.

Well since my friend already got a 360, I decided to get a ps3 because we go over to eachother houses everyday and play games.

bought it because my 360 was so unreliable. died 4 times. ps3 is one of the best console to date... for me =]. not to mention the online is free =]

bioshock dlc (i still dont havethe PS3 version of bioshock:p)

the other consoles to me seemed to lack longevity, seriously wii's graphics are seriously bad, xbox has good graphics but not much to store those graphics on, i hate how they had to gimp GTAIV because of the xbox360's DVD9.

man i sound like kaz hirai or whoever said that about the xbox360.

oh and mgs4, gran turismo 5 and zone of the enders series(although i wouldn't be surprised if that went multiplat, but hideo likes his space, that is why he chose the ps1 over the n64 to make MGS1). Also, obviously, it is the only console that could feasibly last ten years without boring the owner to death, it represents the best value, aslo the only console where innovation in gaming can truly be made other than the innovation they call 'waggle', but to be fair they are introducing 'waggle+'.

speaking about the motion plus thing, the original reason why nintendo didn't put the good sensors in the first place beacuse it was too expensive at the time, so now they are charging wii users for it anyway, and how many games can take advantage of motion+, i can imagine that the adoption rate for the device wouldn't be as high as nintendo would like it to be so then there would be little reason to as why the developer community (other than first party titles) would take advantage of the motion plus, next thing you know they will have an add-on hardrive.

I think Sony set me up!!!!!!! My beloved PS2 gave me many years of happiness then I reassured her that I'd never cheat again(Mom got me an xbox for christmas one year) then 2 weeks before the PS3 launched my PS2 died (Possibly of a broken heart seeing the superior PS3 coming and all) So, I had no choice but to move on the the next level and seeing as I had tons of PS2 games and I broke my xbox out of pure rage like 2 weeks after all my games for it got stolen PS3 was my only choice. I swear to this day that Sony stole all my xbox games andkilled my PS2 for their own evil ambitions.

Execlusives. But i also got a 360.

My PS3 was an impulse buy. I went to Best Buy back in November to buy a cheapo $200 Blu-ray player that I saw advertised and ended up coming home with a PS3 instead. Funny thing is, that I actually thought I was done with console gaming for good, at least for this generation, before I purchased my PS3. I had 3 Xbox 360's puke out on me over a 3 month span back in 2007, until I finally gave up & sold (at a loss, of course) the 4th refurb that MicroShaft sent to me. After that horrible experience, I swore to myself that I wouldn't buy another gaming console this generation on principle.

Oh well, so much for shaky principles, I guess. :)

I was born and raised on the SNES, then on Christmas my parents bought me a Playstation One, ever since then i have only had sony consoles, gave up on Nintendo after the snes, so since then ive been a sony man all the way, and after the ps2 started to give up on the new games and ps3 was bringing out such great games, i just had to buy one, and havent been disapointed, i have now a ps3, loads of games and a 1tb buffalo external harddrive, i bought a wii, but well that was a waste of money and ended up giving it my sister, i really dont know what all the hype was about wii, its boring and childish, my little sister likes it but then again she is young and stupid!! PS3 ALL THE WAY

Emm, well my mother has always been loyal to the Playstation, so when she was gonna buy a new console I said to her that the 360 was cheaper and she said: "I don't buy crap" I was like: " 0_0 OMFG my mother knows about gaming....."

Because it's the ultimate machine to game with.
