Why do many people hate the PS3? Seriously, why?

remote play works pretty well. It's not for playing games though, but rather for playing videos, music..etc from your PS3 to your PSP. I am hoping this feature will be used more in the future like Racing games with the back camera using the PSP as seen in some Sony conferences.

I had a PS2 but got a 360 instead of a PS3. Why? The price and the lack of good games for PS3. Plain and simple. I don't give a damn about blu ray I buy a gaming system to play games. So lets look at the games...what did it have? Resistence. No way in hell am I paying 500-600 dollars to play one game... Now it's got resistence, R&C, and drakes fortune soon. Looking better but still not worth it yet in my book. It still costs more than i'm willing to pay, but with the next price drop and any more good exclusive games, it should really pick up in sales. I'll probably buy one then. R&C was always fun and drakes fortune looks good, it makes me wish xbox had something like that.

Other people just hate Sony for whatever reason, but I don't think that's the main issue with the PS3.

I never really cared about any company but Nintendo. But seeing all the pompous, mastrubatory sh1t Sony spewed in the year before the PS3 launched pushed me to dislike Sony and the PS3. Then of course when it underpreformed for the first 8 months I couldn't help but smile evily as they shot themselves in the foot again and again.

If you question was honest: why I might not like Sony a lot, that is my answer. That said, I respect what the PS3 will eventually be and where Sony is going with Home, Little Big Planet and Afrika. So I don't hate them, but if I were a more shallow person, I would for the reasons stated above.

I think its cause sony made so many promises with the PS3 and so far they aren't keeping that promisequizee

If you ask me, the ones who declared 'console wars or system wars' for this generation of gaming are responsible. Sony's a competitive company, but I don't think they were the ones to declare war (system or console wars) against the other companies when the next gen of gaming was on the horizon a few years ago. The ones that launched their gaming console first are probably the ones that started this mess. All I have to say to that is 'whatever.' I love my PS3. I could care less about all the negative things being said about the PS3.

beacuse their mommy and daddy bought them a 360 for their 15th birthday so they decide to hate what they dont have...honestly the most people i see who love all systems are those who are above 18 and buy their own stuff...oh Gamestop hates ps3 for no reason at all..

Just to be fair, I did actually play a few games on the 360, for about two hours, until the thing crashed on me! I had to go through a whole process of re-starting and re-configuring the controls, etc.

And then they say the PS3 isn't worth it...unbelievable :roll:

It's people who sided with xbox and took it upon themselves to make it a conquest to be against Sony, the company with the most sales before this gen. They are damned because they are so one-sided with 360 and get bothered if anyone says anything good about another console that they consider in direct competition with the 360. It's a conquest to beat the King of consoles (Sony) as in their minds. Like my brother in law said when asked by my wife and his wife why? He said because people hate the champion and want to take him down. Jelousy of Sony and hate is what I gather from it. Why? Because it's in their blood to be that way.

well heres my big gripe with it (i have a PS3...got a good deal so im not bothered about it now).

600 euro.....for what? thats the question. personally i could care less about the multimedia extras (i think wii has too many features) and i expect every piece of technology in a console to be built with games as the top most priority. these are supposed to be games consoles not multimedia centers.

so thats the gripe. sony expected ppl to cough up 600 euro....and yet it offered no benefit over the compeition (in many cases it actually offered worse performace than its competitors) from a games perspective. loading times were long, some games needed installing and sony expected people to pay nearly 200 euro more than its nearest competitor.

heres the thing, if sony sold the PS3 for 600 euro but it offered clear and huge benefits from day one then there wouldnt be a problem (well ud have the standard SW stuff). if every single cent on the PS3 was spent on making it the best gaming machine possible then there would be no problem. id have no probs playing 600 if the PS3 had 2 GPUs, 1GB of ram and so on. but it doesent. debate still continues over which machine is actually the most powerful from a games perspective. for 200 euro extra...there shouldnt be any doubt whats so ever...the PS3 should be greatly superior in every area in games and it should show from day one.

my gripe is that sony made a multimedia center and they put expensive tech in there that may not have a future and offers no major benefit for games. its a console built by interference from sonys other departments. they just used the PS brand to promote tech that has absolutely nothing to do with games.

still that gripe is for the 600 euro price. with the new offers out there, those gripes are greatly negated. PS3 may not be worth 600 in my book, but it certainly is worth 360 euro and at that price, i think its a great games console.

I am a PS3 owner. I have owned it since Christmas. I have several games for it, and to be honest, there is nothing really great here. I keep hearing everyone saying "Be patient, be patient", but all of the games out are either ports, or mediocre first party games. Oblivion: great game, but you can get that on 360 and the PC. Motorstorm is probably the best PS3 game out there. It has amazing graphics, and is just pure fun, kinda like...well...kinda like a game should be. Other than that, I don't touch my PS3 that much. I have Warhawk and that is good, but I don't really play it too much...because I don't really care to play it too much. It is fun, and I think six axis is great, but it is just another mediocre shooter. It really is no different in concept from UT2004- but that game is better. I hope PS3 really does come through, but in its current state, I don't really get defensive about it if someone else says something bad about it. My PS3 is getting dusty. I need a good, no, AMAZING game for it. I purchased the Orange Box for PC, won't be getting that for PS3. I have the Crysis demo, it is great, but I can't turn the graphics up all the way. I think that is what the PS3 needs. Crysis. I know Crytek is rumored to be working on something for PS3, but we need it soon! I was patient for Lair, and look at that- sucked. I was patient for the Darkness- it was okay. Oh and people- Resistance is not THAT great of a game! Go play Half-Life 2 and tell me Resistance is GREAT. Sony better pull something great this holiday, because besides Metal Gear Solid 4, I'm kind of wondering why I bought a PS3...
My favorite game for PS3 at this point is Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty...understand?

Im probably gonna get a ps3 and sell my 360. Why, because its getting boring, most of the new games that are coming out for it are dissapointing me. Like halo 3. I also returned my wii about 15 days after I got it cause its more of a fad kind ofthing and dident appeal to me. On the other hand I have a psp and the ps3 looks amazing. Probably will be joining your guys community soon. Just one question. Is the online as bad as people say it is. Cause thats one thing that would sway my opinion.airg6
