Ive been reading a lot of hate on the PS move (along with the Kinect but thats another forum) and I seriously dont understand why. They took what the Wii has and made it 100 times better. How is that a bad thing? I mean seriously the Move controller picks up the slightest movements you make, its very fun to use as well they just have to make more good games for it (like sports champions). I guess I just dont understand where all the hate is coming from, some people are seriously pissed off about it too.. its kind of funny actually =P. Its not like them releasing the Move is interrupting any of our favorite games, its just a bonus.

On the other hand I will never understand the appeal for the other motion gaming hardware, it just seems like they can only release certain genres for it because only certain genres will work. I was watching X-Play and they were reveiwing the fighting game for that other motion hardware and the guy beat the game by acting like a kitten and batting at the screen.

Pretty much in agreement with VR on this. I like to be able to execute a series of badass actions with my thumbs and not be required to flail my body around to make a guy on the TV do the same things I am pantomiming. If I'm going to do that I may as well go out and have adventures in my real life.

Well first off some people just do not like change, and its a choice not forced on anyone. Dont get hung up on people that hate it if you like it go with it F the rest. As for this poster I am pretty sure you cant grab a gun and go outside and start shooting people without getting killed so its an adventure in your living room more or less. If it gets used right and its comfortable they could make shooter games much more fun

This is true. I'm not against motion controlling gaming but I just doesn't interest me at the moment, there aren't enough games out there I want to play using Move. This being said it doesn't mean motion gaming shouldn't be around, the tech is awesome and at the end of the day, Sony is just widening their audiences.

Unless your talking about the Kinect I wouldnt call it Flaling around, the Move is actually very precise.. the gladiator game on Sports Champions is very fun, and its not a game where swinging wildly at your opponent is rewarded you actually have to think about where to hit. As far as most shooters and other types of games like Fallout or AC go I will always use a reg. controller, but there are alot of could be games that would be great with the Move controllers.

I don't hate the move at all, I just really dislike the fact that there are NO games for the friggin thing. It's just a massive waste of money, that's my issue. I have 2 moves basically collecting dust since they first came out. If there were some games that didn't suck donkeys then I probably would actually use the things.

I don't hate motion gaming, but I agree with what my dad says about motion game

"I know that it supposed to make you more into the game or have you excrise, but gaming is meant to be played by sitting on a couch in front of a T.V, not jumping up and down like an idiot in front of your T.V" or something close to that, I think I added a few things there

I was one of the biggest skeptics. But I played a store setup and fell in love with it. It is light years ahead of the wii. It measures depth and the most intricate movements of your wrist. Dont believe me, try going for the gold cup on sports champions in table tennis. I agree the game catalog is really weak at the moment. But that will change. I prefer ye olde dualshock as well, but it is a refreshing change and games like the fight: lights out are excellent ways to get a workout while gaming. Its also fun and not intimidating for the casual gamer to approach. My mother is nearly 60 and loves playing the beach volleyball. This is also broadening sonys audience of gamers as well. Which in turn means more money, which ultimately could end up in the form of nice kickbacks for its community of gamers (all of us) Whether you choose to endorse it and enjoy it is your choice. But accept at least that it is good for the system and good for gaming in general, because it is inviting more people to find out how awesome our little club is ;)

I don't have anything against the Move, it just doesn't interest me enough to spend the money for it. I'm still waiting for them to come out with a game that makes me say "I gotta buy that". Hasn't happened yet.

I don't hate motion gaming, I just don't care for it that much. At the end of the day, I'd rather have a controller in my hand, but motion games are fun for a while to say the least. I have a Move controller and Sports Champions, and while pretty fun and responsive, I still only found myself playing it a few times around November and have since never touched it.

Lmao, I swear everybody here is in cahoots with eachother. "I dont hate it, I just dont care for it/it just doesnt interest me".. nah lol thats cool everybody has their own "thing" I definately understand that. Oh and to the guy who said "I know that it supposed to make you more into the game or have you excrise, but gaming is meant to be played by sitting on a couch in front of a T.V, not jumping up and down like an idiot in front of your T.V".... It was either Nintendo or Sega that came out with the first "Jump up and down like an idiot" games back in the day.. they just didnt have motion controllers. Oh well, to be honest I dont really mind looking like an idiot I just like having fun. Im not pointing fingers at anybody but too many people treat gaming like its a job.. way too serious, to each his own though. I know I do look like a moron while playing my move though when my girlfriend drops everything shes doing just do watch me play and get a good laugh

people see motion gaming as casual, so now that the other companies are going for it, they see that as meaning they're only going to focus on casual games. meaning less games catered towards them.

basically a greedy / "this town aint big enough for the both of us" mentality

Uninterested in motion gaming.

Not that I hate it. I see it as a great thing for expanding Playstation.

Some people love motion gaming. My friend who constantly plays fps games told me it was awesome.

Motion gaming = Main focus family games.

Sure you can use move with Killzone 3 but that's your preference but I'll keep my controller with the 2 analog sticks.

Motion gaming is casual fun for having friends over with a few beers (if your of age of course).
Other than that, there is no reason for any serious gamer to pick one up at the moment.

Motion gaming doesn't have to be only for the casual fan. Generally speaking it is, but I would argue that is more because it is more closely associated with the wii, which is seen as a more casual console.

I can't speak for the Kinect, but the move is incredibly precise in a way that I think can enrich the experience of a "serious" gamer. It's all about immersion.

When I play games, I play to have fun. Frankly, exercise isn't that fun to me so I won't do that while gaming. I also have no interest in jumping through even more confusing input methods to have less accurate controls. Motion gaming is QTEs for your whole body.

I guess you can't fault somebody for honesty. Although, other than exercise titles and The Fight, most of the move stuff I've seen seems to be more small movement control. Now, I'm not saying fast wrist action isn't being active, but if we call that exercise we have to call a lot of things exercise.

I don't hate motion gaming. I did have the chance to play PS move "Sport Champions". The volleyball and archery were fun. Didn't mind the "frisbie golf" But that is about it.

Maybe becausethat a lot of the games seemed rushed. That the controls seem tacked on.to me it just seems that the developers are not putting much effort into this? I could be wrong but it just seems that way?

PS Move may get better as timegoes on?

Its not that I hate the motion movement in gaming, its that there arn't any good games to support it. A saying we joke with in our development course is "If you have an idea that looks dead, make it Move." and it seems like an accurate way to describe a lot of motion games right now.

The story, graphics and even gameplay stinks, but the concept of motion seems like its only justification and that's not good enough for me. I think the potential is there, but until it arrives, I will keep playing what I already enjoy.

If someone can create a more compelling use of the technology that makes me interested in it then I'll check it out but currently theres' nothing so I'm simply staying away. I don't hate motion gaming.

Well there is paintball, sports, nightlife. I'm saying that if it requires an equivalent physical output, you may as well do these things and reap the social benefits.

wouldn't go as far as hate but I don't like how far some people take it, as the technology stands right here and proably in the near future (don't own a crystal ball) it's nothing more then a gimmick that enhances some games (mostly shooters and party games) but for normal "hardcore" (it's late and can't think of a better term right now) games a normal game controller works WAY better and yes, I do include the wii in that.

They can't afford or it kills them to actually buy it. They feel they are forced to purchase the motion controls and would go as far as calling it a gimmick and making many other excuses to not have to purchase it. Also see: 3D TV 3D Gaming.

I can think of a few reasons... With the PS move, it's an overpriced bundle, for one. None of the bundles include the nav portion, and some games require each player to use two very suspect looking wands, at $50 each. This doesn't even take into account what the game itself would cost, at $60 a pop. There's also the space and sensitivity requirements. Just with the Wii and its sensor bar, it took me quite a few rounds of trial and error before I found a combination of position for TV and sensor bar before the remotes would be able to function in the games accurately enough to play some of the more motion sensitive games. With the kiosk set up for using PS Move, the controller itself only worked half the time, and required you to stand at a rather specific distance along with some calibrating motions, for every single game... something that quite frankly gets old. With the Microsoft solution, it at least will support as many players as the game allows, and doesn't require any additional hardware beyond it. But unlike the Move, it does leave open for optional play that would employ holding some k ind of prop, while the move basically requires the gimmick props to work at all. And both require calibration for every game, unlike the Wii.

Calibration takes literally 5 seconds for the Move, and the sports champions games dont seem all that rushed to me really. I especially love Ping Pong because its so much like the real thing. I also dont understand what you mean by the graphics are bad, although I think most gamers nowadays are way too spoiled when ti comes to graphics.. you expect way too much. I appreciate any graphics nowadays really, I guess you can just be glad with what you get and not always want something more ;]

I hate motion controls because when I play videogames, I want to sit down in my reclining chair and relax, with as little movement as possible. Motion controls force me to actively move around, which I get enough of in my normal day.

As far as Move is concerned, there is not that much out that is any good. I heard sports champions is good. Some people think Tumb is cool. Heavy Rain is supposed to work well with it. The controller still responds faster for Heavy Rain than the move does. MAG uses it, but I am not into that game. Heroes on the Move uses it but every preview from all over the internet does not like that game at all. The only games that might use it successfully are Killzone 3, and Socom 4. That Sorcery game looked cool, and No More Heroes also will use it. These games have yet to prove what move can do. Not to talk about other companies but even Nintendo does not push motion control like they did when Wii first came out. A lot of the newer games for that system have people holding the controller on its side, or have classic and GC controller support. Other than sports games, rail shooters, and FPS games, it seems that classic controls are still the way to go.

it seems many of you arent "getting it" i dont think anybody is stating that the move and motion control is now their preferred way to play games. we all have ps3's so we are all used to regular gaming. it is just nice to have the option. yes, sometimes i just want to sit there and play games how i have for the last 25 yrs. but sometimes i would also like to get up and swing my arms arround like theres a swarm of invisible bugs in front of me. if its not your cup of tea then fine. but "hate" is a strong word, especially on mlk of all days lol. itll never be how i play certain games. im never going to play ssf4 or uncharted2 with it. but for games like fight night, killzone, madden, maybe even star wars tfu, it would be fun to have the OPTION to play that way.

I don't hate motion gaming I'm just not into it. I'm an old-school gamer and I've been playing video games for 20+ years. All I require is a regular controller for a regular edition game and not the ultimate, hyper fantastic, collectors editions (although I will buy Game of the Year editions that offer bonus content on top of the original game such as Fallout 3: GOTYE that includes all the DLC because to me THAT seems worth the extra money). Sony is capitalizing on the popularity of motion control gaming and they should because apparently it's pretty popular. A company needs to find ways to make more $$$ as they have bills to pay and employees to pay and if they can generate income and interest then both company and consumer win. I'm sure video games will evolve into something more that goes beyond motion control but time will tell. My opinion is this: if you like the whole motion gaming, you-are-the-controller stuff I say more power to you!:) I hope you have fun with the games and that they're worth money you spend on them. I'll be over here with my regular controller (using the D-pad, analog sticks, and buttons with my fingers -not my thumbs-still can't figure out how people can play that way), and a regular game. I can't ask for anything more!;)

Its a love/hate thing. Or maybe a love/yeh watever, thing. I love motion controls. But I don't think the potential has been reached with the move (or the wii) in terms of what it could be used for. Give it time, there will be lots of interesting games for it in the future........ I hope. Its great with Tiger 11 and some friends :P. Though I don't reccommend it for the elderly. My olds couldn't get the graps of holding a button while you swing. It was frustrating for them and me.

I personally wouldn't invest in motion gaming, but if I have access to it I definitely wouldn't mind playing it. I'd rather stick to the good old fashioned controller anyhow.
