Why do so many people think Uncharted 1 is the best looking ps3 game?

I've noticed that more people seem to put this game on the top of their top 5/top10 list than any other game. This post isn't really meant to knock uncharted...it's a great game and one of the best-looking PS3 has to offer. But it has some aliasing, texture-shimmering, asemi-choppy framerate,screen tearing, somewhatstiff animation, plus some of the textures look like they're on steroids. Games like Ratchet and Clank Future, little big planet and killzone are nearly flawless graphically...so I'm just curious what it is about Uncharted that causes people to put it one the top of their list?

It's really hard to put R&C and LBP into the graphics race with how cartoony they are. To me Killzone 2 isn't up to par with Uncharted due to the lack of color.

They only see the art style and teh textures. MGS4 , RE5 , and Killzone 2 are better.

i never thought it looked that amazing. i mean its great but having played PC games for awhile it dosnt compare to a lot of games out there. its all good though since im both a PC and console user. too bad my PS3 is broken cause i was looking forward to uncharted 2.

Because it was, heavenly sword had that honor at one point in time as well.. Who cares? Since when do graphics make a game fun?

Meh RE5 was pretty good looking, not as good as Uncharted

All MGS4 had going for it was the character models, everything else was average

Idk. Mgs4 is way better. The explosions in uncharted were terrible IMO. I didn't think the game was that graphically awesome like people seem to think. The whole game sucked IMO. Only ps3 exclusive I haven't liked.

I think GTA 4 is still, next to that R&C, COD4 and Killzone 2.SagaRain

i agree 100% with this. Uncharted is really colorful and vibrant and such, and lbp and Ratchet and clank are cartoons basically.

I love Uncharted's graphics and think they are the best on the PS3, even ahead of Killzone 2. Killzone 2 is very amazing when it comes to graphics, but Uncharted has more color and for me it just makes it look better. MGS4 is third in my opinion, I thought the graphics were awesome as well.

It has appealing environments. Killzone has the best graphics, but a gloomy color scheme which fits the game.

Uncharted was the best looking game of 07 and still remains one of the best looking games on a system to date. There are better games overall like on PC but PS3 games have the edge. First Motorstorm, then Heavenly Sword, then Ratchet, then Uncharted, then Metal Gear, then Killzone 2, next is Heavy Rain. Who cares anyway we are comparing very minor stuff. At least Sony didn't show off it's full graphics capabilities like MS did with Gears of War. Those games are still the best looking games on that system. Lost Odyssey is good but that has too many technical issues and needs to be put on 4 discs just for minor CG stuff that looked somewhat better than the gameplay. Demon Souls is also known for having awsome graphics. The only thing I don't like is the character models in that game.

PS3 wins the graphics championship for consoles. Gran Turismo 5 will blow anything we have seen so far and make them all look like dead rising.

what about MGS4? We seem to be forgetting it.

I notice a lot of people love it because of its bright colorful environments, but to me graphicwise, it is at a distant 3rd with MGS4 and Killzone2 being at the top 2.
