Sega's Tennis games have been pretty much the exception to their mediocrity. They are much better than any other tennis game on the market and I expect VT3 to be the best yet. I still play Tennis 2k2 for Dreamcast, it's the perfect tennis game.
How would an Online Version of Tennis game even work? Any sort of Lag will kill accuracy of strokes or shots. 360's online version isnt much to look forward to. At least the PS3 version is being made by SEGA's superior AM2 studio and 360 version is beind made by Sumo Digital. PS31080p version FTW.
OMG people are getting too worked up over this, its tennis! Okay virtua tennis is good for playing on something like a psp but whats the point buying it for a PS3? too repetitive even if it does have mini games and why play online anyway because your better off playing against the computer without lag and people calling you a noob on every point. plus its sega and so far, they haven't impressed much.

Ahhhhh now we see why Microsoft's Online strategy is superior, MS did all the hard work for the developers, so it is almost trivial to add online play (with friends list, voice chat, global invites) to almost every game. When you have to run your own servers, serve up voice chat, serve up video chat, serve up buddy lists, and develop your own buddy system, you will be much less likely to do so. Will Sony 1st party games have all that? Yes. EA games? Probably. Most other developers? it's not so certain now.

Or you could play it on a fast connection (like me) and play it against your out of town FRIENDS (like me). I have all 3 systems and will definitely be picking this up for the one with the strongest online support. Also, in case you haven't heard, this game is fun as haell.

I would bet on "not." It's really sad too. I would have loved to see Sony answer Microsoft with a good online service. I remember all the hype back when Sony boasted that theirs would be better.

its possible to patch it online via the psn but nto sure this is happening.. i heard when they were making this game they got the net code from sony too late so thats why they didnt implement it.. sega just fails imo, they cant even make there own net code.. they are stuck in the stone ages man.

I would imagine it boils down to Sega being too lazy to implement online play in the PS3 version. Xbox Live, and I gave MS a vast amount of credit in creating such an infrastructure, makes online play ridiculously easy for developers to implement. It pretty much boils down to them having to create a lobby and game types and hooking the game into Live's protocol. After that, Live takes care of the rest. With the PS3, devs have to create an online environment from the ground up.

There's a big difference between 1080p and 720p upscaled to 1080p, which is what the 360 is doing with the game. The PS3 gets a true 1080p signal with 1080p high res textures. The 360 has 720p and lower res textures that are being upscaled to 1080p. Big difference.

Nano, as a level 1 poster you are all well and cool but I'm just betting you know nothing about the community in GS. As far as posters go Colorado is on every forum equally, doling out the damage where it needs to be dealt. I'd go as far as to say that the next mod this site chooses is between him and cakeordeath. Now, once again, if you knew this community you would know that Colorado owns all 3 systems, but that he is most against his Wii...but he still BOUGHT it and PLAYS it. Looks to me that he's as far away from a fakeboy as you can get...
First let me say I have both next gen systems. At first I was very disappointed about the ps3 but now things are looking better with the updates and everything.
 However, Sony needs to step it up and make every port game that has online play on the 360, have online play for the ps3 if not they will lose a lot of money. I know I will only buy the 360 versions of games that do not have online play for the ps3. The games must be better and include this. SO step it up sony. If sony doesnt care about online it might not be the system for me. Oh well at least I have a hell of a blueray player.

The reason why th eXbox has online is because MS provides everything to the developers. Servers and everything so they don't have to do much. Sony does not provode Jack.... I have cable modem and its not 128kb try 3000kb. Oh and you seem to miss the point. No game is good with lag. I didnt say I continuously have lag problems. Just cause you have a good connection does not mean you wont experience lag. What planet do you live on?
It's not just a matter of writing the code, they also have to pay for the servers to match up games, host the lobby chat, etc - things that XBL provide (for a fee). Â I guess they just don't see the cost of adding online play as worth it for the PS3 version of the game. Â Also, the PS3 buyers as a whole probably aren't as much into online gaming - that type of gamer would probably gravitate to the 360.
