if they would have included a mic, i might talk but then i'm going to have to listen to all the idiots. and unfortunately, the idiots outnumber the nice people by quite a bit.tgschmidt
Amen. Even if they had included a mic I still wouldn't use it, learned my lesson with LIVE.

you would have a point except thats why the MUTE button was invented so you can choose who you listen too, People need to get a headset on some games to have fun IMO or why even play online at least talk smack

except then you'd be taking more time muting people than actually playing the game. and it's a persons personal choice if they want to talk or not. on the games i play online, it's an for-yourself type game anyways. no need to talk.I talk once in a great while, but I play online to play the game, not to talk with everyone.
People play how they wish to play, there's certainly nothing wrong with it. A lot of people talk, and a lot of people don't, so be it. I'm not on the game to chit chat, but to play the game. Chatting with a bunch of random people does not appeal to me, especially because in my line of work I'm talking all day long, the last thing I want to do is have to talk while I'm trying to relax and play.

There in lies the reason why most people don't bother with headsets. "Talking smack" is not even close to the purpose of a headset. I only use my headset when other people are using them for the purpose of enhancing gameplay (ie calling out enemy positions and organizing attacks). Random conversation or people telling me how good they are and how much I suck even though I've killed them 10 times already and they haven't touched me just annoys me.
I don't see a problem unless your in a clan match or something. Other then that most people just play to play. I tell people where i'm going and what I see on COD4. Some listen and some don't. It doesn't bother me either way. There are other things to be upset about then people not having or using headsets.

COD4 Invites are welcomed
When I use a headset I just listen for warnings of something on my blind side (although I try to keep scanning the area for targets). The only time I will speak is when warning a team member of a enemy trying to flank them or some thing along these lines. I don't talk smack instead I may just wait in a ambush area while someone is talking smack until they are in a spot that I can take them out quickly. I have had some people talking about how bad they are just walk rite into my sites without me really trying that hard to take them out.

same here, and I have the Jabra headset that comes with Warhawk. I dont like chatting while playing a game. Its pointless imo. And besides, english is not my first language, so it would be a problem to be thinking how to say stuff all the time.

man, lighten up!!! using a mic is all part of the online experience, tell the whinney teenager to shutup. idk, imo playing online with a mic triples the online experience

I only talk on mic if people are actually talking about the game. i dont want to hear people sing, scream, laugh uncontrolably, or anything. i want to talk strategy(rainbow six) and where all the enemies are and where to group up(resistance). things like that.

exactly, thats the whole point of playing onlineBecause people do not care that much about voice chat to go out and buy a headset seperately. Sony should include a headset because then more people will be using voice chat. -supercharged-
Pretty much, why should I pay extra to get trash talked when I lose, and cursed out and accused of cheating when I win? I barely play online as it is anyway, so when I do, I prefer silence. If we got some really good co-op games, maybe I'll grab one.
Ive got a mic, but to this date i havent found many people worth while talking to. I constantnly get into games where there are people who have them on so u hear every freakin thing that goes on in their surroundings, and lets not forget those winey teenagers who get fragged and sobb about it.
I tend to block all voice chats in games when i play R6V or other shooters. I wanna hear the enemy before i see em, not hear my enemies shout about something being bugged since they got wasted. Only use it with friends..
I hate in when you get a guy on your team that shouts about everything. Like "OMG my teams teh suck"carlisledavid79
thats why i hate headsets more than i enjoy them, so many idiots out there I really don't wanna hear what they have to say
