Why so many FPS?

They are fun every once in a while for me but do we really need this many?Beejy

its seems that they are so easy to pump out is probably y, all devs really have to do is worry about the levels and what to deal with the rest is the same recipe cool guns and shooting ****. there will be a lot more games coming this year so just buy the ones you want and you will be good i only have 2 on my ps3 resistance and COD4 so

I dont understand the whole ZERO perephial vision thing and robotic type walking feeling, its like walking around with those blinder things they put on horses in the city so they cant see whats going on, on the sides of them!!

Whatever??? we need more 3rd persons!!!!! Its just looks cooler seeing your charatcer and since so many 3rd person games have the option to go into first, I think most game these days should do that!!!

yah i agree i like seeing around my whole character like you could on socom, all games should just add both options to please everyone probably make more money that way

Because most people are getting so dumb (IQ dropping below 10) that they can't understand a great story. Are too dumb to solve a puzzle etc. etc. So all they can do now, not without trouble tho', is to shoot the same 4 badguys in a matter of 6 hours and watch credits... :P Just kidding.

No idea why. Kids seem to like them. Personally they got old back in the 90s imo. But all fads blow over at some point i guess. Well just have to wait for a game that will give us stuff to think about and stuff to understand :D

Actually i did have "Decent" for the ps1, you flew a ship and shot things in first person perspective.

Because the western markets eat them up. I prefer 3rd person shooterstommcruise

....and it's a rather shame, because I prefer shooters less than fighting, racing, action, adventure, and RPG games

well i suggest getting a wii ,, having all consoles open up a variety in games,, but ya i kinda agreee and further more why so many lack splitscreen multiplayer ,,

and why does perfect dark 64 and goldeneye still hold up to day lol . i cant stand rushed fpses like pd0 , and such when are we gonna see a quality fps like resistance , i agree with tc we are seeing way to many fpses and way tomany with no split screen 4 player multiplayer,

It's not because it makes them feel cool. Most kids these days are just (no offence to anyone) to dumb to be good at anything else. It's easy just aim and shoot, Using K&M, Controller or whatever. It's easy. and it doesn't require the use of their brains. Now if a story was thrown in there, and a lot of it was text. They would black out and lose control of themselves. These days people can't handle stuff like that. it's "too complicated"

the FPS genre is just something marketable right now, so devs take advantage (not to mention they're the easier type of games to make). Unfortunately, with there being so many FPS titles across the board, It's up to the consumer to weed out the shooters that are actually worth playing. It does kinda bother me, but i am a hypocrite in a sense, beacuse my fps/ to other game ratio for my ps3 is pretty high. But ut3, cod4, and r6v... those are must haves. I do want more rpgs, but i can't complain, it's not like anyones forcing me to buy area 51 or soldier of fortune, lol.

I've said it before and even I have been surprised by how many people who actually agree with it. Especially some of the hardcore FPS fans have agreed. Wich means some of the stuff i said might be true.

First of all, they are just feeling sorry for that impotent old guy in a tin-suit. Because they are going to end up like him. Impotent and dead. :P And if they can't enjoy the fun of Phoenix Wright/Apollo Justice, that just proves i'm right. They are war-horny little brats, with no humor. Wich is sad.. But on the other hand, i pick my friends carefully. So at least i have 2 things in common with them. I don't want mindless drones whos willing to cling to anything that has the Halo logo on it.
That being said, one of my friends would probably be all over it if there was a thong with the Halo 3 logo on it.. and he's a guy.. Brainwashed. Wich proves to me that they are easy targets. And a sad bunch of people (ANY fanboy is a sad person. Enjoy everything or just stay anti-social please)

hopefully kilzone 2 will raise the bar and developers will stop making too many fps. couse it will cost more to make them look that good. and have a good story.

1.unreal 3 engine makes making them easier than you can possibly imagine

2.all the "good" games that came out over the last 2 years have been fps

3rd person shooters are only good if they have a very good cover system.

I never bought a FPS in my life. Maybe its because I really don't want to feel like I'm the one killing everyone. So I prefer the 3rd person shooters (Warhawk, Uncharted). Also, I'm getting so SICK of hearing about a new FPS that comes out every month. Aren't there other types of games out there...save me FFXIII! Zidaneski
