this is to me one of the main reasons for the ps3 to lack in details in the games compared to the 360..the 360 versions run at 60 frames and most of the ps3 run at 30...why?rumours say it can go up to 120 frames but damn, games stick on 30....why?even if the code is difficult for the companies to programme,i do not care..something must be done...otherwise we will only have a cheap blue ray player and not a powerful console machinebruce_wayne_grSame reason why my PC runs Oblivion at 17fps.
Easy lazy developers don't know how to program for ps3 bc they try porting instead of developing for the ps3. First party games have no issue bc they are developed for the ps3 and use the spus whereas 3rd parties are lazy.jyoung312
which games are the first party ones?do not tell me the launch games cause i believe exactly the opposite..that as times passes, then there will be games developed for the ps3 because companies will then know exactly how to programme for this machine
It's all because the developers don't know what to do to get the frame rates out now. But then TV's run at around 27 frames per second.jimm895
i think tvs can run more since the xox 360 has many games running at 60 frames per second

thats hdtv's, and apart from madden, which games run at 60fps on the 360 and 30fps on the ps3?
a system is only as powerful as the skill of the developers creating the software. remember that BoDy_BaG
yes but again isn't it the same developers that make pc games and those who make console games?

not Necessarily. especially when it comes to the ps3, the programming is much different from the pc and xbox that devs are not used to it and cant make games that well, even though they are getting much better. Plus i dont think the same people that work on the pc work on the console, most of the time they have seperate teams or studios working on a single title, one for each platform. Except maybe ports or rare occasions.
i cannot understand why sony made the machine to be so hard to programme for games ....i do not know if programmers are lazy or if sony made a big mistake ....bruce_wayne_gr
i get that too sometimes.....i believe ps3 is before its time but i used to pray it wouldnt end up like that dreamcast. But every now and then more and more devs seem to get used to it and start complimenting the hardware which brings hope. And i dont think its going away anytime soon with bluray crushing hddvds right now, people keep buying the ps3 even if its not for the games

I think it's about longevity, personally. There's probably a big advantage in having developers gradually unlock the capabilties of the hardware, rather than fully understanding it's techical prowess from the very beginning. Think about your favorite FPS or strategy game and how important a games replay value is to you. Would you really want to experience everything on the first pass? I don't necessarily mean that Sony deliberately made the PS3 hard to code for - it could be that the hardware just demands it - but in either case I don't think it's such a bad thing. Developers will still be figuring stuff out on the PS3 five years from now, wheras the 360 will probably be well mapped long before this.

yea and i bet five years from now the 360 would be loong gone and microsoft will have another system out the door along with a wi2 or wi3. i see what you are saying but u dont want developers to still have trouble coding cause they will most likely give up and stop. You want them to get comfortable with the coding so they can push the hardware futher, like past systems u can see from a launch title to one of the last games that came up how big of a jump that said system has made.
I seem to remember the Dreamcast outperforming the PS2 when the PS2 first launched... look how that turned out, give it time.
I'm not trying to imply the 360 will flop as hard as the DC, thats almost impossible. But just take that into account. The 360 is outperforming the PS3 now, but it will almost certainly change in favour of the ps3 in months or a year or so down the road..
yall dont know ur frames per second .... 30 ISNT BAD 60 is a WASTE OF ENERGY gwf123
ya'll don't know english.
