Yea Im getting real sick of first person shooters too. I want more Rpgs and third person shooters. I sorta want survival horror games but not resident evil unless its something besides like 4 and 5. I havent played agood storyline game in a long time. Maybe haze will do it for me.
I'm with you. The only FPS i've ever really enjoyed was Halflife (and Half life 2). I'm buying a PS3 for the RPGs it will be getting, which the 360 seems to lack (not a single good one in its approx. 20 months since being released).

actually... this is why i got a PS3, even though i own an Xbox 360. the PS3 has a wide array of games.

i don't hate FPS, and i am interested in Haze.....but I can't really say that I go nuts for everyone thats supposed to be the next great title. i'm not that hard into it.....
I can never get enough of FPSs :P but it has been a while since I played a good RPG, that's why I'm looking forward to White Knight Story, it has lots of potential and I hope it brings back my love for RPGs. The other promising RPGs are still years away.(FF13)
because thats where all the dev's put there effort into, we are getting super awesome fps games but crappy adv / platform games. The dev's are just following the money.

Agreed. I also feel the FPS genre is oversaturated right now. I do believe that the Xbox 360 is attempting to diversify as well. Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, and Mass Effect are games to look forward to besides Halo 3.
i'm with you, i don't understand how people go crazy for fps (like halo) to me and i might acting ignnorant but imo all fps seem to be the same. Thats why i really don't understand why halos so overrated when its just pretty graphics with the same gameplay.
fps is pleasure because you can kill as much as your rage will stand and have nothing to clean up or regret or pay for later.
rpg is pleasure because you can escape the reality of your dull existence and be someone more interesting for a while, even age or transgendered or experience transmogrification if you want.
or maybe you didn't want to know. it beats self-mutilation for **** and giggles.
i knew that FPS are easier to develope than RPG....I'm not even trying to imply that there be less of one for the other, its just the level of saturation is beginning to be unbearable. Variety is what i'm looking for here. I don't care if the new "IT" FPS from the best dev team took them 10 months to produce and I can buy it at a discount rate. Its all in all 80% similar to all the other FPS out there! Take the time to TRULLY give me something different! How about RTS? There still is only about 5 platforms titles available for PS3 at the moment! They might as well come out with a console called "4FPS"!

Majority rules and you arent a member of the majority. I love FPS but only on the PC as the Mouse/Keyboard combo is vastly superior to a gamepad. Are there are PS3 games that support keyboard/mouse yet?

Only game coming out so far that allows that is Unreal tournament 3.
after quake 1 and duke 3d and halflife i havent seen much innovation in fps games. Its only now games are starting to use the "cover" mechanism in FPS games, everything has pretty much stayed at a standstill in gameplay.

Also some recently release new FPS games seem to have potential in the storyline part but they fail.

what is RPS? they've don'e a couple of Lord Of The Ring RTS for 360....even the regular Xbox had Alien Extinction. i respect your opinion....its just that not everyone in North America is an FPS head! They don't even focus on fighting games anymore!!! The main thing I like about a game is having some level of customization, and FPS games usually ahve NONE!

The voting is always going on as a matter a fact. The way these game companies take vote is by how many games they are able to sale and yup as of lately fps games are just selling better. At least thats what it seems like to me. Here after this year there probably won't be as many fps games released next year because some of the fps games coming out in the near future will have a hard time getting good sales since there is so much competition.

Here after this year there probably won't be as many fps games released next year because some of the fps games coming out in the near future will have a hard time getting good sales since there is so much competition.

RTS hasnt worked on consoles because of the lack of mouse/keyboard control. That limitation is gone now.
