Ive come to the conclusion that the PS3 is not hated for any of the reasons listed above, in fact its not hated at all... but the people on these websites choose to take every news story or editorial as a fact, or as somthing to argue about instead of taking it for what it is... a discussion. and also if you think about it xbox 360 isnt cheap either. lets compare. ps3 - 600 ( 60 ) xbox 400 with hd dvd player 200 = 600. hmmm how about that

i agree that the 360 isnt cheap, but with the 360 you have the Choice of getting the hd dvd player or not. If you dont want it, you can just get the system for 400 and not be inclined to pay $200 for the hd dvd player, unlike the PS3 where u Have to pay for the blueray player whether you want it or not 'cause its included. Although the ps3 is a much greater value than the 360, ppl just don't seem to care cause blueray isn't the standard for movies yet.
See...This is the problem with so many people. People fear change, on just about every level. But, as it comes to technology, change is a good thing. But, as a result of said change, things will be costly. A lot of people say "Oh, I don't need this." And/or, "I don't want that." But, contrary to that, others are saying, "I don't mind it." Personally, I see so much potential in the new technology held within the PlayStation 3, when it comes to developing games, or the like. Whereas, others are content with the more...safer console.. Granted, the 360 is a step up from the previous gen, but, anyone would be foolish to pass on the fact that, given enough time, and, the effort put forth by game developers, the newer tecnology may surpass all our expectations. In any case, in the end, it's what the consumer wants. And, regardless on what others think, or feel compelled to say to the contrary, they will stick to what they want. That's basically what it boils down too..

However, they simply haven't had as much success as Microsoft at screwing all the taxpayers over (MS is 10 times the size of Sony in Market Capitalization). Does this make them less evil? Probably not. It's like saying a failed crook is a better person than the successful crook. They are both money hungry corporations.
So here's my answer to your hatred question: There is no personal reason for us to have emotional loyalty towards corporations. The only thing we should want is for "innovation" to win and a healthy competitive environment to survive.
Sony should not be the only player. That would be terrible. Nintendo should not be the only player. That would be terrible.
Microsoft makes 3 billion dollars profit EVERY QUARTER off of an already borderline illegal monopoly. I would suggest they should *not* be allowed to take over the gaming industry since to be honest don't they make enough money already? They can be a healthy 2nd or 3rd but god forbid they own Business Computers, Home Computer, The Living Room, and the Game Systems.

Very well said... completely 100% agree. Just watching how upset people have gotten over this post is a clear example of what....to say it simply...disgusts me about "gamers" at the moment. To think theres people here, in this forum who actually insulted, bashed, and formed a hatred over me simply because i dont agree with them on the terms of a video game console, or what company deserves my dollar is somthing we should all think about. The fact that this topic generate a good amount of upset among people, simply because they did not read what the intent of this post was is scarey as well... People here are attempting to catagorize other people on which console they own with names like Xbot, Lemming, Sheep, Cow, FonyFan, SDF, WiiTard (my least favorite one).... is plain and simple just disgusting. Great post I agree totally. I think of it like this look at EA with the madden franchise now think of that across the whole gaming world yeah not so pretty. When 1 company rules them all you have to buy what they give you or go without period no choice in the matter. Competition is healthy and spawns innovation and creativity. Soon as 1 company has control that all goes out the window.

actually the games that came out on 360 at launch were pretty good. perfect dark zero, project gotham racing 3, call of duty 2, condemned, and kameo. kameo was kinda dumb though it was too easy and even though cod2 wasn't exclusive it only came out about a month after the pc version in october. and right now ps3's only good exclusive game is resistance which i would say is comparable to perfect dark zero. resistance has a much better single player but pdz has better multiplayer in almost every aspect.
and what you said about every argument being against the current ps3...so what? it doesn't matter if its new and hasn't had time to get several great games and stuff, the fact is the system generally sucks right now. doesn't mean it'll be bad later on down the road but it its future doesn't affect how i'm not having fun with it now.
I agree, noodles. I had a much better time with the launch offering of the 360, and it's not just because there wasn't competition... If I just purchased a 360 and still had a PS3, I'd still be enjoying the 360 games like PD0, Condemed, COD2 (WAY better than COD3) and Kameo far more than Resistance and Untold Legends, my two PS3 games. The Wii sweetened the launch-pot by including a great bundled game and offering up one of the greatest adventure games ever as a day-one title, although I must admit I almost never play the WIi now that those 2 titles have come and gone. I have lots of Wii games, but I just don't want to play them very much... they kinda' feel launchy. Can't wait for Metroid. Believe me, I want to enjoy the PS3... I have a stake in it's success, since that would make me feel good about the (sizable) purchase. I just don't see much coming down the pipes that's going to do that in the near future. Motorstom looks OK, but racing has never been my thing. I'm banking of VF5 at this point, even though traditionally I am a Namco man when it comes to fighers, and never really got into the series very much. Still, I hope my enjoyment of the system goes up when I can feed it some high quality games. I guess March is going to be pretty interesting... I hope they have some real standout games.

I love the look, Blu Ray is awsome for movies and is grabbing control of the next gen DVD quickly. So far the only game I have, R-FOM, COD and FN are absolutly sick. After I get motorstorm, download Mortal Kombat2, get Rainbox6, Oblivion, Medal of HOnor, advanced war fighter2, I will be set for a good amount of time. People are going crazy just after 2 months of its debut
i think wii is giving ps3 a hard time now.. the other machine i dont think is having an effect much and i think thats all sony cares about. Its just trying to acquire the hardcore market and i think its doing the best job so far in doing that.

Here are the top reasons any fool would write in caps: 1. Their 'caps lock' key is stuck. 2. They want to attract people's attention. 3. They are shouting on top of their lungs. 4. To annoy others. 5. Too lazy to write in lower case letters. As for #5, PS3's case looks better because of the gloss (which can get scratched easily by dust particles), other than that, PS3 has an awkward, ugly shape, looking like a house roof, with weird edges sticking out. I know how much people made fun of the original Xbox because it was huge and bulky, but now it's the opposite.
