why wont some divx files work on my ps3?

i have the update and today i started to see some divx videos wont play. i press X and it just said unsupported format??? why? the videos are using the divx codec and other videos work why wont some work??

i have no idea at all what is different between the ones that work and the ones that dont they are both divx and should both work

I've found the PS3 can be a bit fickle with some encoders. I've noticed this especially with AAC files. What encoder are you using? All the movies I've encoded with Dr DivX work flawlessly.

Before someone mentions the 2gb limit, I've discovered this to be false. The PS3 can play files larger than 2gb from a DVD, though it initially reads them as "Corrupted Data" but plays them anyway. I haven't tried locally stored ones though.

The Divx decoder will only play files from Divx 4 and up and not files with DRM.
