Haha, I was in the same boat as the OP.

For Valentine's Day, my lovely girlfriend Sarah played a very large trick on me. Her little brother has a PS3 aswell [I convinced him to sell his 360 like I did.. haha] Anyways, she had him text message me on the cell, and pretend that he was looking for a game to buy, and was asking me questions about games, what ones I thought were good, and what one I would get. Ofcourse the few that were mentioned were the cheaper games, and out of those I told him the best choice would be Splinter Cell: Double Agent.. Little did I know the whole time, she was actually at the store, in front of the game section, on the phone asking him all these questions to ask me lol...

So after that, I thought nothing of it... then comes Valentine's Day, and to my extreme surprise, I get a PS3 game, Splinter Cell: Double Agent from her! I was in pure shock!

Later that day though, I took her out to dinner and I brought it up how I probably wouldn't actually play the game all that much, and if it was okay if I returned it, got the $40 back, and instead used that $40 towards another game. I did that, and ended up getting Burnout Paradise, and spending $20 on my own gift.

So, it turned out great. Shes a great girl, and I wish every gamer could experience the feeling of their partner actually encouraging their gaming habits. I love her =]

Hi. I'll be your lawyer from here on in:lol:

.......

Your wife is cool enough to buy you games and then u tell her you want another one?

O lawd. You're lucky she bought it in the first place.....most women would consider games just another thing you could be doing instead of spending time with them.

Truth above all.

If you want BP that much just trade it.

But you should, at least pretend you really liked the present.

You should feel worse. What you did to your wife is so rude on so many levels. When you recieve a gift from ANYONE, you happily accept it, whether you like it or not, because they went out of their way to attempt to make you happy. The fact that your wife picked up a high profile game at all is amazing. You lucky to have a woman that puts up with your selfishness. Sorry, but it's true.

[QUOTE="G-Legend"]telling her was definately a mistake lol if a woman or girl gets you something you didn't really want pretend like you wanted it because most of the time they worked really hard to get it and you sound like a jack@$$ for saying that you don't want it. I say you keep DMC4 and buy Burnout with your own money.G-Legend

dont get me wrong, i DO want it, but i was going to rent it. i even told her i do want it, but that im going to sit and beat it too quickly and trading it in is going to get me less for it.... she was going to get me burnout but they were sold out and she baught devil may cry on impulse just to get me something... i want her to get her moneys worth

Well I still say you keep DMC4 maybe even appologize to her. I'm sure you'll get $60 sooner or later then you can get burount when it's not sold out. Even if you feel it's not her moneys worth she still bought the game for you.

I like what he said. And Devil May Cry 4 is a great game. Whether she got you Burnout Paradise or DMC4, you'll probably end up getting one of them on your own, at the end. I'd be so happy if my girlfriend or wife, bought me a game. More than half the women on this planet dont even support men playing video games. They think it's too kiddy or childish. I like her, I say apologize, keep DMC4, even play it infront of her and show how appreciative you are in a genuine and fashionable way. Buy Burnout Paradise with your own money, it's not MGS4, you wont die! Lol. Returning the game, or trading it in later whether you've completed the game or not, will just make her feel even worst. Keep it, enjoy it, show how much you love and appreciate her, with a big kiss!

Telling her was a bad idea. We should always embrace the presents that we are given, especially by loved ones. It means that they care;)

And yes, DMC4 is a great game.

C-Himura

I'm sexier - regarding sig.

If you look up sexiness in the dictionary, you'll find my definition, I embody the idea of sexy...

I looked it up. We must have the same name.

Well, names do have different meanings in different languages. Perhaps you embody the idea in English, while I embody it in Spanish;)

Fair enough.

if you want Burnout, buy it yourself. No wonder the divorce rate is so high. I don't care if she bought you Barbie Horse Adventures, you say "Thank you honey. I love you." Even if she says it didn't bother her that you complained, she'll still hold it against you. and ten years down the line she'll use it against you.

wow a mistake, lol. The mistake here is you telling her she bought the wrong game. You'll never see a game again.

dont get me wrong, i know its a good game and ill love, i actually did want it a while back, but games are quite expensive.... and if i beat it in less than 3 days, im afraid shell say something to me for spending 64$ on a game that lasted 3 days
