If you plan to online game it's best that you use a wired connection.

I played RFOM online for more than 100+hrs and only have had 1 disconnect from the server, so far wifi is great

While wired is best, WiFi adds such a small amount of latency, you would never notice it. I use WiFi for my PSP, DS, PS3, 360 and Wii. I also have a MacBook that I surf the net from the couch.

I use WiFi because I didn't want to drill through my floor and ceiling to get a wire to my living room from the router in the office.

Ive noticed no lag or connection problems using Wifi on my 360 and PS3.  Wifi hubs are about the same price as wired ones so I would go with the Wifi if you ever get a laptop or friend comes over with laptop.

I use mine wifi, and the only time I notice lag is when I play FFXI and there are 500 people in one area. I lagged wired too though, so its no different.

That is the network speed and has nothing to do with the internet speed. I always recommend wired if possible but if wireless is the only option then go for it. Latency is always better with wired.

Innitially I had trouble with dissconnects fromt he network while using the wifi connection. I attributed it to the crappy router we had and decided to go wired for the time being and havent tried it again. But while I was usign wireless I found that even though I was constantly getting kicked the instant I started a game in resistance I was never kicked from the network untill I came out of the game.

I have a 60 Gig as well, I already had an ethernet cable ran to my 360, so I just wired the PS3 as well.

You don't need a wireless router. You can connect with the Ethernet Cable that came with the system.
