I have the call of duty black ops 2 turtle beach ear force tango headset. Is it compatible for the PS4? Payed $300 for it so hopefully it works. If not on launch day at least soon after I hope.

From PS4 FAQ

"Existing wireless headsets from third-party companies that use a Bluetooth connection will not be supported on PS4, though most USB headsets will be supported following PS4 system software update 1.50."

fyi, that headset uses Bluetooth for the mic. It uses a digital optical cable to connect to the PS3 so it might work after the update on PS4 but I doubt the mic will. I think they'll patch it not too far down the road. As far as I know Turtle Beach, Tritton, Astro etc. don't have PS4/Xbox One compatible headsets just yet.

All USB and optical out headsets will be fully supported( read: voice chat and game audio) after the 1.5 patch. Before this patch, Optical out and usb based headsets will only transmit game audio and no chat audio.

Bluetooth headsets are screwed in general as there is no mention of fixing those in any upcomming patches.

Also, Turtle beach has like 6 headsets confirmed to work after the 1.5 patch, and i know for a fact the astro's will work too after the 1.5 patch as they rely on optical out. No clue bout tritton though as i have never used them.

My advice, go to the turtlebeach website and check if your headset is in the list of confirmed headsets to work after the 1.5 patch: http://www.turtlebeach.com/console-compatibility

Click ps4 and see if your headset is in the list
