Well it's too early to really judge anything. Do I think it will win in the end? Yes I do. It's a system built for the future with a 10 year life span. Furthermore, it's full of technological advancements that will not restrict developers, and will allow great games to continue to come well into its future. Finally,it's got now plenty of great exclusives lined up. With a slight price drop, as we have seen with the recent price drop, sales can massively increase.
I think that it is important what system wins because if Sony does poorly then its exclusives will be taken away and it may even be kicked out of the competition. But its obvious that this is going to be ps2, x box and gamecube all over again with ps3 and 360 head to head soon enough
I honestly do not think the PS3 has any chance to win at this point. It could go on to be a great system to own, but they'll never get a workable system down to that sweet spot in the $200 range - that sells 10's of millions of consoles. Not to mention, there is no way the PS3 is going to match the PS2's game support.....it has already lost alot and will likely only lose more, since the other consoles have alot bigger installed bases.
It's a competition between the Wii and the 360 for first place, at this point.

Ok. Firstly I've never understood this fascination with exclusives. Exclusives are a pain in the ass. Because of exclusives I have to buy more than one console. Exclusives are only good for Nintendo, Sony and MS. They AREN'T good for consumers.
Secondly, if PS3 loses exclusives who cares? As long as it's still coming out on PS3 don't worry.
Lastly, if Sony is knocked out the race the people who made games for the PS3 will simply make them for a different console so you could then become a fanboy of that console. Problem solved.
Everybody hates the PS3 because of the price point, due to the lack of games, or there just annoying fanboys bashing the system for no reason.So,unless Sony comes up with way to gain the consumer's confidence back,I highly doubt that PS3 will win the war. But, I'm still rooting for my champion Sony.
