Will Sony ever redesign the XMB like MS did with the dashboard?

In any way at all. whether minor, or a full blown out redesign?

i still think MS's thing was a essentially a rip-off mixture of XMB and Apple's Frontrow, but it still makes the console seem new and fresh again on some level.

Will Sony ever try that, or is that basically what Home is? I just think that maybe one day they could redesign the home screen like the themes should be better. the only animated theme is the original. thats lame.

I hope not. I like the XMB as it is; simple, organized, and easy to find things.

I see the xbox's new dash as being a mixture of Home and Miis; just so MS can say 'we can do them too'. I personally don't know many gamers that are actually excited or anything for the new dash. It seems like it's more of a thing to attract causal gamers.

Sony has been messing around with the XMB interface for like 5 years now with the PSP. They like it, and I like it.

All I know is, they have to improve the in-game XMB. I mean come one, you can't do anything. You can't message your friends, go on the internet or play music while playing games. It also lags a lot when you go into the XMB in game.

the XMB is great. Why change it?

The only people that don't like the XMB are the people that have never used it.

what?

you can definitely message your friends with in-game xmb, and games are going to start supporting in-game music, i know warhawk already does and it works very well. it even has a cool player to use to make it simple

...WTH are you talking about? Of course you can message in game. You can also connect your bluetooth headset and sign in on the PSN. Voice chatting, internet surfing and regular music are still no go unless the game is programmed for it (like MGO with its signup crap and Burnout's music.)

yeap I kno that, but I wanna just beable to tap it like the old days. Its just annoying distraction, you might bump the button and bam it goes to the xmb, would be nice to havethe option to turn it off.

um yah u can message ur friends with the in-game XMB -.-

and its the first time they have tried it.. im sure itll get alot better

and more to the point! i dont think sony will change the interface of the XMB accept for MAYBE adding icons... probably one for Home... the XMB is like a sony signature... Some of their TVs use it and the PSP used it... and i think the PSX used it... so no they wont be changing it anytime soon =D

XMB is a great menu interface, but i would like them to change it too though, seeing both menus on the PS3 and PSP don't really makes me feel good....i want something unqiue on the PS3.

Well if they can re-design it, and make it optional so that users can choose either the XMB or the new menu that would be great IMO.

XMB = Sleek, intuitive and easy to use.

Why the hell would we want it to be changed?

Why does anyone listen to this guy. Let them release home first and then worry about the XMB. The more we **** about things the less we get for being a bunch of spoiled babies. At most all I can ask for is a live chat for the in game XMB because I like to have a streaming voice chat while playing my games so no one else can listen in to what I say. But I'll wait for that once they release home, that is first priority

I don't see why Sony would need to change it. Microsoft needed to change it to manage all the content they have availible.

Wow lazy much? When do you ever accidentally hit the PS button? And how hard is it to hold a button down for more than 2 secs?
