Hey so I'm running low on my 60 gig hard drive. I was gonna get this one to replace. I just had a couple questions. 1. Can I use my 30 gig iPod Classic to back my files up to it? 2. If so, can I copy those files to my PC and access them if (God forbid) my PS3 were to break? 3. Is that a good hard drive? Thanks! :D

That HDD will work, it's the same one I have :D. I doubt you can copy your saves onto an ipod but you can use I usb stick or an external hard-drive.

Ok, that's one down/ I don't have a USB one big enough. I'd rather not buy another HDD for a transfer either. My old iPod is the only thing that will be big enough.

I'm gonna do a restore to get all my game data and stuff. Saves are the easy part. I have a lot of Rock Band data and it would be so great if I could just transfer that without downloading it all again. I don't even have Rock Band 1 so I can't get those songs again and I'd hate to re-patch EVERYTHING. That would take forever.

Yeah I guess, so the easiest way will be to get an external harddrive though.

I put the same one in my 80GB and it runs a treat. Then i bought a 2-5 sata enclosure for the 80Gb hard drive i took outta my PS3 and formatted it and partioned it into roughly 2 halves-FAT 32 and NTFS using some freeware available on internet called Swissknife and now i can plug the hard drive into my pc and use the NTFs partition and plug into PS3 to do all my game saves using the FAT 32 partition.

That should work perfectly. :) Just use a USB drive or something 'cause I'm not sure on the iPod. A 4GB drive should be quite cheap.
