A feeling tells me this will be a contender for "Game of the Year" status for 2011 (Mass Effect 3 also a contender).
L.A. Noire sounds like Heavy Rain meets Grand Theft Auto.
The open-world freedom and adventure of GTA with the indepth story and drama of the Heavy Rain thriller.
If this game gets good reviews, I won't have to play Red Dead Redemption. I can't stand playing that many GTA-ish games in one generation. GTAIV and this game (hopefully) will do it for me.
If they developed this game right, it has the potential (based on its premise) to become the NEW highest-rated game on the console and knock GTAIV and Uncharted 2 off the top of the list.
It looks interesting, but hopefully you actually have to think a little ( figure out these crimes and solve them on your own )
Not just be lead around and go through the motions. I have my doubts though. They probably don't want people to get too frustrated.
Yep! Going to be supporting the Aussie game developers who so far, seem to have done an awsome job. Cant wait for this release!
On that note, I may be this after a significant price drop (probably this time next year) because the whole facial expression thing looks far too detached from the rest of the characters/game.It looks odd, like they superimposed the faces (which is what they did really). I don't like it one bit. They should have captured the faces during mocap- that would have been more beleivable, something for the future though I suppose

You hit the nail right on the head there.
Where most games have characters that look like something out of an Epcot exhibit the ones in this look like they came out of the Haunted Mansion. It's definitely different from something you might get out of a Bethesda game, but it's still creepy and strange looking.
Definitely. It's been a while since I've played a story-heavy game, really interested in this.
