At some point, I will buy another one to keep in the box until it's needed. I have a boxed PS2, still, for when all of the used ones are so janky and messed up that I can no longer game with them. I like to ensure my gaming doesn't get interrupted. Right now, that brand-new PS2 I have in storage is becoming more and more valuable to some buyers, as well... Not that I will ever sell it. But the PS2 has stopped being produced. I have a huge (and ever-growing) PS2 library... I expect no difference with PS3 games. As the 4 comes out, and focus drops, that's when I start picking up a lot of games...
... Add to that the factor of my not liking where the game industry is starting to head (Cloud Crappola, Download-Majority/Only game sales, possibility of anti-used-game tech, higher prices, etc), and this will probably be the final gen for me.
So yes, like the PS2, I intend to buy one and set it aside in storage, for that inevitable "Rainy Day".
