[QUOTE="kevy619"] Good for you, Im sure most people wont even look at the reviews. GeoffZak

That's what I did, I never let reviews change my decision when it comes to buying a game.

So you buy games off instinct?, Lair is a good example of why you should always watch or read at least one review before a purchase. Wasted $60 off that crap Lair.

Meh, I'll still pick it up at some point. FFXIII and God of War III were going to be my only purchases through at least March anyway, so I wasn't going to pick it up for awhile. Looks like it will have dropped in price by then.

Go check out Gamespots score of Tales Of Versperia, 8.5? for basically a PS2 quality game. Say what you will but at least WKC has elements of a next generation RPG not PS2 level dvd poo like the XBROKE port of Tales Of PS2eria.

They are being extremely biased in this case. While the game is far from perfect it's better than Tales any day of the year.

yixingtpot

Uhhh, Tales of Vesperia is one of the best JRPGs I've played this gen and some regard it as the best in the Tales series. Vesperia is an amazing game. GS underrated it in my opinion. I'd die for a PS3 localization.

And don't bring System Wars stuff into a PS3 thread.

I love the scores, actually. Sure they're lower than I expected, but Gamespot members have been closing their ears whenever someone would point out the gaping flaws and choosing instead to hype this up. Attempting to put this up to Final Fantasy's standards. And it lol'd in their faces. Now, WKC will have to step aside as better RPGs remind JRPG fans what a great game is. Persona 5, anyone?

Well, I never hyped it to the level of FFXIII but thanks for taking joy in my disappointment. It means a lot to me.

Ouch. D': Would it make you feel better if I was referring more to the ones that were hyping this up to bitter death (Level of FFXIII and beyond)?

This game is actually pretty good and the online aspect is very fun. Graphics are nice, screen-shot doesn't do it justice. The game has lots of armors and weapons, the environments are huge and with lots of chests and hidden items all over the place. I have played the game for 5 hours and I'm impressed by how good it is after all these mediocre reviews. If you are an jrpg fan you'll gonna like this game for sure. WKC is like Monster Hunter, only better.

Unless you're planning on paying me my money back in the event I don't enjoy this game, I wouldn't say that any JRPG fan would enjoy the game.

Eurogamer are harsh reviewers and they rated the game with an 8 and let me tell ya that I agree with that. These reviews are ludicrous, the game's a solid 8 in my opinion. And graphics are better than most people think, it is just that you need to see them personally to understand. The water effects and draw distance are incredible.

Have you tried to played it personally? Because you'll be surprised about how wrong you are. I thought the same at first when I read all these reviews but then a friend of mine convinced me to buy it and I don't regret it. What I do regret was paying mind to all the reviews because the game is good. I'm not joking and you can look at my list of games to see that I have played a lot and I'm not the type of guy that get impressed by tiny things.

I'm not saying that the game's a 10 or a 9 but it is good game, not something that deserves a 5/10 or 6.

You can't be serious? ToV is one of the best JRPGs this gen. You're one to talk about GameSpot being bias after saying "XBROKE"? :|

Will be trying it personally via rent/borrow. The reviews thus far have done nothing but justify my initial overall impressions of the game. I certainly won't be buying this unless the game completely shocks me from what I expect. And trust me, I bash the games that I myself have given 8.5s to - If that's any indication to how picky a gamer I am.

A little. I personally never hype games. I just get excited for them. I let everyone else create those hype threads and I just post on my feelings on the game. I "predicted" that it would get an 8. I said 8.5 at most, and in the back of my head a 7.5 at the very least. I never thought it would do so poorly review-wise.

I've explained before that I have waited FOREVER for this game to come out the moment I saw it on the Japanese shelves on Christmas Day. It's not so much the reviews that are disappointing, but rather that I waited so long for a major flop. Sony took forever to publish it here in the States, I waited for a release date that seemed like an eternity, and then it finally comes out, I get excited, and then bleh. I can't even compare it to anything in real life. If the game had come out soon after the Japanese version I wouldn't have felt so disappointed. But since I waited 14 months it sucks.

I canceled my pre-order actually. I still might get it because I found it for cheaper on Ebay, but I'm not sure. I feel betrayed. I'm also letting reviews sway my decision. I usually ignore reviews, but the scores are too low to just brush away.

Eurogamer 8/10 and GT 7.6/10 are no low scores just get the game its good if you are a JRPG fan GS gave Wild arms 5.4/10 but yet its one of the best JRPGs in PS1 era lol.

Gametrailers.com gives more of a "fair" review than Gamespot. They bring up evidence when they point things out and do the pros/cons fairly and I believe they gave WKC a fair 7.5 out of 10 or something. If that's any incentive for you.
