[QUOTE="Yuck_Too"]Anywhere from 15%-30% of the original cost to develop is what it typically costs to port a title. Even if we say MGS4 cost 50% of the original budget, thing is they could easily sell more copies on the 360 platform so the return on their investment is that much more worth while.emitsu97

How so? Granted the X360 userbase is larger but the MGS series fans are largely PS devouts.

As for the whole "multi-disk" thind I don't see it being that big a deal,if your options are buy a PS3 or get up to change a disk every 5 hours...Yuck_Too

I'm not bashing DVD's or complaining about changing disks, I'm wondering what kind of "massaging" would be required to effectively shoehorn a game of that size to work with the X360's capabilities.

If I remember correctly Oblivion fit on one DVD for the 360 while it was about 15GB on the PS3. So it may not be multiple discs!

Disk space requirements aside most dev's compress the data regardless of how much room they have. Compressed data has faster load times off the media and all of the consoles can decompress it faster then they can read it. This should be slight advantage for the 360 since currently the DVD drive have faster reads then the blu-ray ones. For example the hickup loads in Oblivion on the 360 were worse on the PS3 and that's why they installed to disk for the PS3, which is faster still.

As for the difference between lossless and compressed musicI just don't think this is that big a deal. Heck if you only have a 2-speaker system you're never going to notice it anyway.

Really though as "advanced" as MGS4 might be given money and time nothing is impossible. And it's not like it's going to be using 100% of what either console can do. Every year titles get bigger and better, things get optimized and improved and it's always better then it was.

If you bought a PS3 for Metal Gear and it goes multi platform, that sucks for you. But to pay $100 so other people cant play the game? Do you guys deny you're blind, nerd driven, fanboyism? You 33 of you. Its silly. How does and XBOX gamer playing MGS affect you at all? And why this devotion to any one company? I love my 360, but if the XBOX 3 costs a thousand dollars forget it! I have no relationship to these companies. I buy the system with the most games I want to play. And if all games I want to play are multi platform, I'll buy the cheapest one, obviously.

wow...that's a close poll, must admit I thought it would be more one-sided in the results
