So just bought MGS3 in order to catch up with the MGS storyline (so I can fully enjoy MGS4)...

People told me to start with Snake Eater because that's where the story begins... that's cool and all... but... this game is... really hard...

I haven't even rescued Sokolov and I've been playing for like 1.5 hours...

Any tips?

Master CQC and go Rambo.
Hmmm, but I guess you can just it's just learning the controls and using your head. Oh, and If you think this one is hard, wait till MGS2, only way to get out of Evasion is to hide, can't just kill everyone.

Yeah... It takes time to master the camos (knowing which one giveyou the maximum camo index)and the controls offered by MGS3. Anyway... the only tips I can give you is to be patient. Don't rush it, timing is everything in MGS.

yeah from what I've played, this totally has Splinter Cell beat in terms of a stealth action game.

But now I'm starting to look forward to some of the more "FPS" aspects of MGS4 lol.

All this stealth can get boring after a while after all.

You shouldn't play MGS starting with part 3. It will ruin the whole point of the games and the story. Just because it's a prequel doesn't mean it should be played first. Play 1 then 2 then play 3 and you'll understand everything much better and get use to the controls.

Yeah it's better to start from MGS1 then 2 and then 3 because you will understand it better and there are some in jokes that you will understand better too. And if you get caught you might be able to kill al the guards, that's what I did sometimes.

Damn, I really shouldn't have traded this game in. I can find it for cheap so I'll get it for like six bucks. Damn you Oblivion, if that trade 3 games thing wasn't active I wouldn't have traded in Subsistence.
