You're going to bring the store back up but without the free games that everyone's been waiting for? And all you have to offer is more things to make money off us with?

Really?

Mod Edit: Locking this down. Don't like the way it's headed. Everyone's getting a little out of control here.

If that's the case, then they should have just waited for the free games to be ready before bringing the store back up. Making the announcement that the store is back up and saying that the free games are not yet available is a slap in the face to all PS3 owners. Especially since all they did announce is more stuff we can buy from them.

There's also free stuff added, your argument is invalid.

I'm not sure which content you are talking about, but my argument still stands because it was about the free games, not other free content.

The Store is back up. Be happy you spoiled little rat. If the free games are not up yet, who cares. They cost 10$ any way. If you could pay 300$ for a PS3 you can buy a game for 10$. Now, Shut the F***k up.

Shut-Your-Face

Why should I be happy that I can give more money to a company that doesn't know what they're doing and let my personal information get into the wrong hands?

it doesnt matter if you are happy or not while doing it , all that matters is if you do it , nobody forces you to use ps3 especially not sony

I mean you don't have to give Sony money if you're so paranoid about it.

According to Gamespot there were demos, themes and videos, most of which are usually free.

That's the magic word. COMPANY not CHARITY. Just in case some people forgot, Sony are a business who exist to make money. If you don't want to spend your money in PS Store then don't. Simples!

When the free games go up it will mean massive strain on the servers as everyone starts downloading at the same time, i think they will want to see that everything is stable before they make them available. If they put the store up and it immediately went down again people would moan even more.

For **** sake, Gamespot has the most impatient, needy, selfish community in the entire world. Your getting free games and people still complain. I'd love to see the average age of gamers on this site... The hacking happened and it's over and Sony are dealing with the problem. There's reasons for them not bringing the store back at the same time as the free games. It's like you've just been told they are taking away your life forever, when in reality, they are postponing FREE games for security reasons for a few hours. I realise I will get modded for this, but it will be worth it.Adziboy

Nah. The op is right,

Maybe he is impatient. But he's right. Why WOULDN"T they have all their ducks in a row before turning on the service? I asked in the past why they couldn't manage to always have their nightly updates on a set schedule. Both symptoms of the same problem (incompetence in leadership. This fortold weakness within the network division that it shouldn't have been surprising they were so totally unprepared and had no contingencies for a hacker attack.

dude, it aint just gamespot.

It's all over the PSBlog aswell.

People complain there is no PSN, when it's up, they complain there's no store, when that's up, they complain that they cant get their free s***.

The gaming community in general thinks the world owes them something and cries when they don't get it.

People should learn to appreciate what they are given and let the guys at sony do their thing.

they are trying to make sure that when 77 million people start downloading 20Gb of free games, that the damn network doesn't fall apart. Just be patient people. Your free stuff is coming, you've waited over a month, a few more hours is hardly going to hurt

The op is NOT right. You cannot complain that your FREE games are not available immediately. You cant even complain if your FREE games are not available at all! Remember - WE DONT PAY FOR THE PLAYSTATION NETWORK. If xbox live went down, then yeah, then the go-cry-emo-kid mentality would be tolerable, since you pay for the service. But you cant complain that when a FREE service goes down, and even still the company offers FREE games as "compensation" (I use the term lightly, as that term would denote we are at some sort of loss). This topic is getting old really fast. People need to stop whining and suck it up.

ever consider how many people are waiting to download DLC's that have come out in the past month or so? its SMART of sony to not allow you to download the games yet. give people a day or 2 to let people dl the dlc thats been released in the downtime. then put the games up. this way the servers won't be hit *quite* as hard when everyone's downloading the free games.

Just use your brain (if you have one). They need to test everything step by step before releasing the whole PSN service.Mainly because they need to see how much the servers can handle. All those inpatient people (like you ) are trying to log in and that is causing the servers hard times. They announced the stuff because during the outage people missed a lot of content and since it's the easiest task to put a list, i don't see why this is a slap !?!

I normally don't post but this is just nonsense. Your telling someone they can't be angry because the store has been down for an extended period of time and when it was brought back up to accommodate the customers they don't have out the stuff they promised? The free stuff is coming but he has every right to be upset. Its not about being spoiled or anything like that its the rightness of it. This crap has been delayed multiple times.

Actually, I was telling someone to grow up.

this is the real world. And in the real world, there are delays.

I understand the guy is upset that he can't have his stuff, we all are.

But what we don't all do is throw our toys out the pram and scream and shout like we have had our dinner taken away.

Would you rather everything came back before the system was ready to handle the intense load it is about to take, then crash?

What Sony promised was that AFTER the store returned, the welcome back package would then be added, not the second the store went live.

When I logged onto the Playstation Store, it was slow. REALLY slow. People everyone are logging on and collecting online passes, games, DLC, etc. right now. Therefore the servers are being hit hard. Anyone shop on Steam? I remember the first day of Christmas sales, the site kept crashing due to the immense traffic.

Just give it some time. Try out the InFamous 2 demo, grab a different game you want, or go outside. ANYTHING. That or just think of the next asinine complaint to be made. "Ugh, WHY are my free games taking SO LONG to download?! I'm gonna complain about it!"

They're giving you free games for not being able to access for a month a service that is free and you're still complaining because you'll have to wait a little while longer? Seriously? Sony doesn't have the obligation to give you anything, so be glad you're getting something out of this mess and wait like the rest of us.

they are trying to make sure that when 77 million people start downloading 20Gb of free games, that the damn network doesn't fall apart. Just be patient people. Your free stuff is coming, you've waited over a month, a few more hours is hardly going to hurt

TroubleMaker411

I agree with you completely. What is nonsense, is siding with the OP in this matter.

What do you mean by "rightness"? It is EXACTLY like being spoiled. The PSN went down. Yes, it sucked. Life happens, get over it.

We are not entitled to anything because it went down. The fact that it is later than expected is irrelevant. Be happy that we are getting anything, and dont cry when it isnt when you expected it.

If you dont like it, go buy your first (of many) xbox's and pay your 60 bucks to play online. When that goes down, then you can whine that your free crap hasnt come yet.

I will agree with you that it is a bit impatient to demand the free games immediately as the store is up. However, considering how long (what was it, like 23 days?) the entire PSN was down, I think people have the right to be a little impatient in general with Sony.

Sony are testing to make sure their servers don't get owned when over 70 million people try to download free games at the same time. I think you'd complain more if you tried to download them and then lost connection because the servers couldn't take the load.

As long as we get it within a timely fashion, who cares that the free games are not quite up yet? The store is still a bit shaky, and some people are still getting error codes constantly. You do realize that your person information can get stolen any time you use a credit card? Any place can get hacked, so I don't see how this is purely a Sony issue. The way Sony handled the communication of the problem was poor, but you can't blame them for getting hacked.

so they bring the store back up and the weinners come out, wholly crap the store just came up. Give them time to get the welcome back program running. They gave us the store when they fixed it, you should be glad that they didnt make us wait untill they put the welcome back program in.

dude, it aint just gamespot.

It's all over the PSBlog aswell.

People complain there is no PSN, when it's up, they complain there's no store, when that's up, they complain that they cant get their free s***.

But Sony does owe their customers something.

I agree with everyone saying that it doesn't matter if we have to wait a few hours; however, Sony isn't giving us free games to be nice. They are doing it as a business move to try and keep Sony users.

Stop your moaning, jeez! The welcome pack will be added soon. And anyway, they aren't forcing you to buy anything.

I don't mind when the free games come, the only thing I wanted from PS store was adhoc party.
