[QUOTE="cometflash"][QUOTE="TJSAGE"][QUOTE="Solid_Cipher"] thats why things are expensive, little is taxed, so there is little money to put back in the community. When you buy a car you probably dont even need to insure it. If you crash into somebody and you can keep going, thats fine by them. if you total the others guys car, keep going. If both cars are trashed then thats the end of the story, no one will get involved

You definitely got the down side of the system right, but all system has down sides and up sides. I'm from South America, Brasil to be more exact . Let me try to think on the ups and down: Ups, free School, parking, hospital, some medication, and school supplies is also free. The downs could also be the ups to some, like you state, insurance is not obligatory, and most people do not have it, I would assume only the very wealth bother to get insurance. Even know there is lots of taxes, there is many ways to not pay a lot of them, and there is not much enforcement when they are not payed. Many people in Brasil is self employed, and if you are self employed, you pay no taxes at all no matter your income (of course, as long as you keep your bank accounts with average amount of money). In US everything seems to be good, except that you gotta pay a lot for schools, a lot for hospital, and medication, a lot for housing (thats also cheap in Brasil), parking petty much everywhere you gotta pay for (this is not that bad but still). The worst thing, and one of most important thing there is in a persons life would be the health system in US, even know it costs about 2000 or so depending on the time you flight, on a two way ticket, is cheaper for me to go to Brasil, and do some teeth work, (that could cost a few 1000's in US). Thats how absorb pricey health care in US is, image if I had to get a surgery, that would be a easy choice to just fly back to Brasil, and have it there for free. Oh, and teeth work is not free in Brasil, but is like 1000's of % less. So sure you can have technology, and a comfort and all that better then in Brasil, but is not without a cost. As long as you are healthy, US is millions of times better, but if you fall ill, you better be preparer for a doozy.

So how are roads, bridges, and building built and maintained? Who pays for the police, fire, ect????. People in the US hate taxes, but little do they know those nice paved roads, road signs they follow, and landscapes they drive through are all because of their money. Its nice to call the police when your family is in danger and they actually come... Now the other problems are,,,,no one exactly knows where all the money goes, some states just keep it, and others use it for wrong reasons. Now on the other hand,,,as the years go buy in the US, more and more illegals who come here and dont pay taxes are bankrupting that system and the tax payers cannot pay or their kids to go to school, have police patrol them, or repair the roads and bridges they use their cars on. Too much wrong with the whole world

They just announced the new price "cut" to $6,500 pesos, in dollars that is $500 dollars. I think prices in country's with less resources must be lower than the "rich" country's, jeez $500 dollars for a country that just have a 10.5% losses of their GDP :?

Thats nothing compared to Panama. I had an uncle of mine bring my ps3 here because buying one here is only for ppl with money. The ps3 of 80gb is like 600 and the one of 160gb is like 700. Despite Sony made the ps3 300 now here all the business still have the same price, no changes.

Sorry dude but Im afraid to tell you that playing videogames here as a hobby is quite expensive. All the ps3 games goes to $70.00 to 80. Worse, I have seen some business that have games like 100 dollars. 360 games are the same. The less expensive here is Wii and the games starts from $60.00 to 70. Only shovelware goes below the 60 dollars. DS and PSP are like 30 to 50 dollars.

France, Germany, an Japan aren't. Oh and Germany is the biggest gaming country in Europe, Japan is also nuts about gaming. Notice a trend here?! I think that we need to but more games, not for ourselves, but to contribute to our GDP. If anyone criticize you for buying too many games, tell them to stop being so selfish and unpatrioric. Back on topic: Yeah a lot of countries get screwed, all countries south of the USA border and in Europe.

Well not all taxes you can get yourself out of it, property taxes are an example. Larger roads has lots of pay tolls, and smaller roads sometimes are payed by money of campaigning from politics. This is usually a big thing, politics would try investing on the city that they want the vote from. Everything you see on stores, there have already being taxed out, so there is no way in cheating there either. I think is better that way, you go to the store and see the price, and that is what you pay, and not plus whatever tax on top of it. But tax regulation overall is a big problem in my opinion, they have to gather the money, so they usually overcharge tax on others to compensate from those that do not pay. But those that work and do not pay taxes from the money they make, can only retired of old age or disability, other can retire from time of work, which I think is 30/35 years, Also medical treatment is only given in emergency, so if you need to do some surgery, and is not an emergency situation, you would have to pay to get it. Paying taxes on the other hand, you have all the medical treatment you need. They will even send transportation if nescessary, which was the case of my stepfather. He needed eye surgery, but he lived on a rural place, no big hospitals around, so the city transported him, and other patient, free of charge to Rio de Janeiro not just one time, but several times, as they have to make tests and such before operating, and I went with him a couple of those times. So like everything else there is always the ups and downs.

maybe build ur society better

_-THANATOS-_

:? well...i think that sounds offending. you should choose your words better.

i don t think its sony`s fault TC because in europe the price is almost as high but i`m surprised about the high prices the games have in other countries. in peru (south america) they have the default launch price always.

If there is anything the Mexican people should be doing it's not worrying about buying videogames, it should be eliminating government leaders that only exist as part of the upper class whom they continue to make sure propogate successfully while the Mexican people continue to live mostly crappy lives. I'm not too sure how things are now, but if I remember right, Mexico really doesn't have a substantial middle class/bougiouse (sp?). It's economically non-existent. Mexican leaders need to be hung or shot.........PUBLICLY.

Don't take this wrong bro(because I feel ya) but Sony can't be held accountable for the politics of your country. They don't care about us either, it's not like they are giving them away...most of us have to put in longer hours at work to afford these things also. I'm what most economist would call the working poor, so I say again my friend I feel ya.:)

Black-October

Yes i know, and its incredible how Mexicans have to work to get technology, its just ridiculous, they have to pay more than $1,000 USD for an Iphone, in taxes they have to pay approx 33% of their incoming, they have to pay a tax call tenensia (it's a tax that you have to pay every year for having a car and you have to pay the 5% of you car value every freaking year).

Right now Mexico its having a really bad crisis, and they are supposed to have a Agreement of free trade right?? so why they have to pay that much money for stuff like this?

Well there are things that i never going to understand.

Mexico is having a really bad crisis? News flash; The entire globe is experiencing a recession so I cannot sympathize.

Really? because China seems to have a ton of money right now
