Give it a day or 2 max to cool down and then start it up. If it works that means it's overheating. If not then get a new one, fixing it will only prolong the inevitable demise of the console.

yeah i would recommend you wait a few days. I know a few people who turned their ps3 on after a few days and it worked again. But if after a while it doesnt work, just get a new ps3. Sony is a rip off when it comes to comstumer support.

sorry to hear about your ps3

they give you opened games and sell them as new. they let their employees take home and play "new" games and sell them as new. so i have no problem with this.

Yea. Gamestop is very weird when it comes to new games. They open the game so you have to trade it in rather then return it for refund. And I would never buy a refurb PS3 from them or anyone else. Buy new and get warranty. I do see that Gamestop has been lowering their prices and has some great deals even better than amazon. GOW3 for $29.99. Battlefield Bad Company 2 for $39.99. Metal Gear for $19.99. Assassin Creed 2 for $19.99. All "new". One good thing about Gamestop is that I bought a used game for $14.99 (top spin 3), played it for a few days, didn't like it so I returned it for full refund. You can't do that anywhere else.

i 100 percent agree i hate the staff at my game stop so i took a ps3 that was about to ylod and had a broken hdmi port then this chick pulls out the av cord breaks it and then makes me pay for a new cable... regardless i got 200 twoard a new slim and they got a messed up system for ripping me off all these years... im one of the reasons you dont buy a refurbished system

okay so you fave a personal vendetta with GameStop, but how exactly is *giving it a temp fix then sending it to gamestop* stickin it to GS?

the one thats going to get that semi broken ps3 is a customer (that has nothing to do with what you said)

I already got it about a month ago, and before I got it, they told me specifically over the phone that it would not happen again with the refurbished model when I asked about that.

It wasn't working when I sent it in... And they sent back a refurbished one that didn't have it. I'm not sure I'm following what you're trying to say.

Dude it can die again. So much people got ylod and got a refurb and it ylod again. a refurb is just like any other ps3 it can die all the same. they are not specially designed to be unkillable -.-
