I am not sure if it was a rumor or not, but I could have sworn Sony said they would give us some awesome things today for making us wait 2 weeks for nothing. Todays update sucks! GT5 is really the only thing worth mentioning and thats over priced IMO. Activision needs to release A LOT more GH3 content as well, those incompetent fools!

GT5: Prologue would be a bigger deal if it weren't available at retail. Beyond that, if you don't own Warhawk or Lair, it's nearly useless. I waited weeks to download 3 Rock Band songs and then be done for the week? Lame.

I agree once GTA4 comes out COD4 will see very limited if any play time . "For me"
Also I believe there are roughly 3 times the amount of COD4 players on xbox which would make sense of why they got the maps first .

the new store looks better,,, but the icons and text are way too small and hard to read, and its takes too long to load the icons. I had no problems with the old PSN stor, at least it loaded quickly

All I wanted this week was the COD4 maps (as did the majority of PS3 owners), and maybe a demo,, i realize sony really doesnt have a say with demos, but theres no excuse why 360 got the maps 3 weeks ago and we still have to wait. I wasnt expected home or anything really big, but after 3 weeks of no updates i guess i expected a little more. Theres no harm in complaining, it accounts for about 50% of message board activity

You realize that the developers create the content, demos, maps, etc, etc, etc, and then release it to Sony to be distributed on PSN, right?? Granted Sony does have some in-house developement studios, but just be patient. Everyone always whines, complains, and overhypes every week about the stupid update. Because M$ has alot of money to throw about? PS3 maps are releasin on 24th in NA and 1st May in EU
Sony should just stop updating the store so everyone knows not to expect anything and they can complain about that instead. :lol: Does nobody appreciate the fact that this is the first generation that allows devs to add content to games that have been around for a long time. Just the fact they can do it now should be reason enough to be happy.
Sony revamped the Store and I like it a LOT more now. Did they ever promise anything else? Did they ever say there was going to be something spectacular? No they didn't, one person makes a comment about how they think it will be something great and then rumors start and it all just turns into hype. Why be mad at Sony for something you guys came up with yourselves? BTW the new design of the store is a pretty big change imo.
Yeah the new store is great, but realy, I dont really need it. I use the store just to download demos or buy some games / add on so I use it like 15 minutes in 2-3 weeks maybe.
So yes, the update for this week is lame. GT5 prologue is in store so the download version is useless because its too overpriced for just a download version. Maybe if its like 25-30$ for the DL version, but no, its the same price as the retail version.
And for 2 weeks of no content, its a bad update for me as well.
The new Rock Band songs ARE fun. So that's a positive. And I guess if you dig soccer, that demo might be fun. And if you like Warhawk, there's certainly a bunch of new stuff for you. I'll try to be positive about it, but I think most of us expected more demos and actual new content. Wait til next week!

The maps are officially being released April 24th in North America and May 1st in Europe, and there's going to be a few days of double EXP.

Let me clue you in on something...... There won't be many surprises. The BG updates will be big enough to announce before hand due to popularity (like in-game XMB and Home). Other than that, people are just so thirsty for any demos or downloadable games that news will most always be leaked.
It could have been better but I'm satisfied. The Super Stardust Expansion is excellent along with GT5 and the warhawk expansion. SSHD is seriously good update though. Not many talking about it though.

How do you get to download the MGO Beta? I havent looked at the store yet, but will be on later. I think the PSN has been an excellent thing. You guys wanna complain now? Its much better than a year ago when it was basically dead. It picked up tremendously in the second half of the year. It will probably be the same this year. In a month or so, there will be more than enough demos coming when we get closer to more game releases.

Maybe if you have those games, but otherwise its not so great,, Id rather buy GT5P in stores....
its a bad update because there was no COD4 maps, and because there were no demos
1. COD4 maps were always slated for the last week of April on PSN. This should be no surprise to you. 2. As I said in another post, demos will start flowing in as we get to more concentrated releases of games. They dont release demos 3 months ahead of the game. This is a slower game season than the second half of the year, so of course, there will not be as many demos. Haze is the next big release and is supposed to have a demo out around the first week of May.
I'm sorry but I can't believe that some of you guys on this thread were expecting something spectacular from the update. You guys work yourselves up into a frenzy and get dissapointed after you've convinced yourselves what the update could be. That just does not work. Not trying to be rude here but c'mon guys; let's be realistic.
Same thng happened when PS3 was first released. Sony promised a few million units at release and everyone's hyped up. As we got closer to the deadline , the total number of units kept getting smaller and smaller. Next thing you know, people were actually beating the crap out of each other and paying 2 or 3 times more than what the system was actually worth. I'm sorry but you guys have to realize that it's all ways of working you up for nothing and it has been working for years. Keep your eyes open the next time a next-gen system gets launched (I know. That's a while right) and watch what people will do just to be one of the first to have it.
Why is it Sony's fault for not releasing demos, games and what not that they're not even making? If you should be made at anyone, be mad at the developers for not working on a demo or whatever. All Sony can do is put what the developers have finished on the store. Other than that they can only put up videos of upcoming movies or whatever.
I thought the store update was sufficient, sure it wasn't mind blowing but that's what updates and HOME is for ;)
