why Assassin's Creed? I've never played it but it looked fun. Does it get old too early? Are the controls funky? I was considering picking this up at some point, preferably used.whoozwah
The game is reaaaaaaaaaaally repetitive. Everything in the game is top notch, but the missions are what killed the game for me. There's no variety. You do the same thing over and over again.

cool. Thanks :)
I'll just rent it to try it out.
Fight Night Round 3....very boring game. GT5 prologue sure its not bad but online sucks compared to forza, grid & motorstorm.
I would say the Darkness it is so terrible i bought it the first day and i was so pissed at myself for doing itkillpop13
Haha I bought it, played it for like half an hour and now it's collecting dust. The controls were horrible. I SERIOUSLY was thinking about trading this game back to Gamestop which is unheard of from me since I don't ever sell or trade any of my games even if they do suck, but The Darkness is....special.

It's one of the most repetitive games I've played. Mind you, it seems really interesting with the free-run aspect at the beginning, but the lazy a**es at Ubisoft couldn't come up with interesting missions, so they make you do the same thing over and over again throughout the entire game. It's sad when a game gets good reviews like that, then when you get the game yourself, you realize that they were all paid off to give a high score.
I thought the controls felt natural in the darkness. I guess some people really suck at FPS' if you think those controls were bad.
I beat the game the whole way through and had no problems. It was a really fun game when I bought it. Assassins Creed was really fun at first, but then got to be repetitive after the first kill.
I agreed with whoever said, Avoid ALL games based on movies:
- Beowulf, SpiderMan, IronMan, Pirates of Caribean, Cars, Surf's UP
I would add Marvel Alliance and Conflict Denied Ops.
For the FPS, I played them all, even Jericho, Fear and Darkness I liked them all, Obviously they are not COD4 but the single player story is fun (None of them are fun online though).
Assassin's Creed (no replay value at all).
skate. (kind-of the same reason, though now I kind-of regret trading it in since that replay feature is nice).
SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008 (terrible purchase... no idea why I bought it).
Games I haven't played but would recommend to stay away from: The Darkness and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. They may be interesting games but good luck finishing them... and having the fun of trying to play them again.
Burnout Paradise. WHY? Because none of the cars even have people in them! When you smash a car up you see that nobody is even driving the stupid thing, plus all the stupid ads for EA and that annoying DJ, just make it a game to avoid..
I mean what Racing game these days doesnt have a model of a driver in the front seat?
The Darkness
Clive Barkers Jerico
Blacksite: Area 51
Kane & Lynch: dead men
Lair
Assassins Creed (don't get me wrong, its a good game, but it has Zero Replay value).

I didn't even notice that the driver was missing, or I did notice and didn't care. Burnout's never been known as a sim game. It's an arcade racer. I'll give you the in game advertising though.

Honestly AC is repetitive, but somehow still manages to be fun the whole time, and the story is great. The Darkness is really good too just way to short.
I'm pretty suprised people are including Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. That game is incredibly fun!
As far as which games to avoid, I'm not sure. I like all the PS3 games I have but probably the least of them would be Sonic The Hedgehog. It has low end graphics for a next-gen game. Sometimes when you fall into water, you can see half the screen turn black. The demo was awesome, especially on a projector but playing it I notice this game was never intended for next-gen apparently. Kind of a disappointment.
Assassins Creed is sooooooo repetative, you kill people using original game play not used in any other game. Seriously everyone stfu about it being repetative and having no problem with shooting people FPS over and over again, all games have a single concept AC is great IMO although not too much replayability.
Anyhoo, avoid lair, that Gundum game, Haze apparently, timeshift....
Games to Avoid:
Assassin's Creed, go in the city, go to the highets points, jump into hay, do the same side missions over and over, kill one person, jump on your horse, go back home ... rinse and repeat, the controls are great and all and the parkour is fun, but its too repetetive for my taste.
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, i just bought it today, not many cars, tried online and the online system is horrible, i expected a system along the lines of COD4, i hate having to have the car to race etc etc and it takes too long to load.
Oblivion, I haven't really played the game properly, but if a game doesn't catch me in the first 2 - 4 hours, then i think the game is a waste, like the beginning is really boring, it may get interesting later on, but i cant wait hours to do that I have better things to do with my time.
Devil May Cry 4: never played any DMC game before, but i thought i'd rent this and give it a try, and it just doesn't catch me as interesting, although the gloria cutscene kept me playing for a couple hours longer (hoping that i would see her again =P), i havent even finished or really gotten that far in the game, it just sits here while i play other game.

i disagree, it gripped me right away.... you should try - even if it takes a while to grab you, bc once it does, youll be hooked for a loooong time.
[QUOTE="IllegalGamer"]The Darkness is a cool game to play. AC is repetitive. LuckyLy
Really? I couldn't stand the control for The Darkness. Especially when you're trying to aim, the horror. :/
I can understand why you don't like it, but seriously try playing it again its a fantastic game brilliant story, very gory, just straight up fun.
