heard the next one will be here soon, was just wondering if anyone has any new news on it, expectations, hopes, ect. last madden was a complete failure in my opinion, if u play with full quarters (settings on 15 minutes a quarter) like i do, u might have noticed how glitchy the game was, after an hour or so the players never huddle back up for the next play so u can't finish the game. also madden11 seemed very sluggish compared to the sharp precise gameplay of the last few installments. i hope the next one improves on a lot of these errors as the last was damn near unplayable..

I haven't bought a Madden Game since Vince Young was on the cover. I think it was 08 or something. And honestly, I do not miss it. I always enjoyed playing as my favorite NFL stars. But they changed the series too much from what it was on PS2. I feel like 04, and 05 they mastered it when they were still focused on the PS2. I don't feel like they have gotten close to that with the current generation. They are trying too hard to make every little thing as realistic as possible, and it is killing the game play. Madden 11 was possibly the worst I have played. It was indeed sluggish, and far to slow paced. Then they tried that new play calling system which is something that really shouldn't have been done. Like with the past 4 or 5 games, I will try it when my friend buys it. If I like it, I will buy it also.

Madden 10 was the best I've played in recent years. I hope they either impove the character models, or just don't put in the scenes of them walking off the buses and all the pregame stuff. IDK what they can do that really warrents the $60 price tag. I got Madden 11 on sale for $40, which is fine since I put quite a bit of time in it, but there really wasn't enought to warrent a full $60 (I do prefer the kicking in 11 over 10 and 09). The gameflow/autoplay select I found annoying since I like to be in control, so that was always turned off, though it was good when playing with someone not as well versed in the game. I do hope the new one turns out to bring some new stuff to the plate (or should I say to the gridiron?). I'll probably end up getting it, but with all the other amazing games coming this year, it may have to sit on the backburner.

Coincidently, that was the last time the Eagles were worth talking about, all the way to their downfall last year, and this is coming from a lifetime Eagles fan. I think I still have a copy of that game as well, it's kind of neat to have a collection of Madden games all lined up next to each other, especially when you go from N64 to ps2 to ps3, it really is amazing how long it's been around and how well it still sells.

Nah, it's cool. Trust me, I saw the Packers beating the Eagles. There was no way Rodgers was going to be defeated by the Eagles pathetic defense, and our horrible offensive line. Plus, they beat the Steelers, so I was right there rooting for them the whole way. I find it hard to support my Eagles right now with their QB. I just don't see where he's that good. After a few games everyone figured him out, he got hit a few times, and then went back to his old ways of just running around with a big play here and there but not enough consistency to do anything worthwhile (lol, losing to Joe Webb and the Vikings). I watched his game against the Eagles in the NFC championship game and wow, he was horirble then too, and guess what, he still looks the same despite what broadcasters say. I'm not saying Kolb was the answer, but if they were going to rely on an old QB then they should've kept McNabb and played him without putting Vick in every other play throwing off the consistency. I didn't see the do that when Vick was QB, where were all the Kolb substitution plays?

Ok, sorry abuot that little rant, I just don't really see the Eagles doing much this year, but who knows.

Idk if we play the Packers again, I know the Bears are coming to Philly this season.

Regardless, I see the Packers getting pretty far and as long as Rodgers doesn't get another concussion it should be a pretty good season for them.

there'll probably be a season, no way is the NFL going to lose the millions of dollars the industry brings in, plus they'd be looked down upon for basically laying off all the staff in all the stadiums. That's actually really horrible PR, and will hurt them at some point. Granted, I don't feel sorry for the players, they're already making a ton of money, and the ones who waste it on mansions, cars, and what not, well that's their fault.

Could have been worse. You could be a Falcons fan who got murdered by the Packers in playoffs. sigh. I can't wait for a rematch with the Packers next season. Julio Jones!

The appeal with Madden every year is playing with your favorite team with all new players and new draftees. I thought 11 sucked and was way to complicated to just pick up and have fun. Hopefully 12 will be sweet, but not expecting too much. I honestly just want to play with Andy Dalton and AJ Green in the new Bengals Offense. I am however buying NCAA 12 today and will be pretty much the first time in ages I've bought the NCAA version, just because if Madden is no good hopefully NCAA is.

This is true, but at least the Falcons got a competant QB after Vick was gone. At the end of the day, I'm still glad the Steelers didn't win the Superbowl. They're one of those teams I just can never bring myself to root for. The falcons division is getting pretty good now with the bucs new QB looking promising. At least the Saints have pretty much had their one year of glory. Do the eagles play the falcons this year, I feel like they do every year (hey we beat the falcons last year, and with Kolb, good times). That was one of our few good wins, I wouldn't be surprised if they did play each other this year if the falcons would beat us and our defensive coordinator who hasn't coached defense since the late 80s in a high school.

it sells because the madden franchise bought out all rights to making a game based on the NFL, in other words if u want an NFL football video game ea sports is the only company putting them out. i absolutely HATED the madden series before this happened, i prefered tecmo for my NFL games, they were much better done. but nowadays if u wanna play a football game be it college or pro ya gotta go with ea sports, this one looks promising tho, check out the gameplay reviews!

It sounds like they are putting some nice imporvments into this game and alot of them are coming in "Be a Superstar" mode which i play alot. I will pick this up as soon as it is released here in the U.K, I always enjoy picking it up after a long day and playing some franchise or a bit of online.

oh hell no! not me nan, i NEVER play a madden game online for one specific reason- whats the fun of playing against you're friends if u can't taunt, represent, and rub it in they're face and vice versa when u pick 6 them, sack'em, drop'em for losses, throw a completion with triple coverage, or run back a kick off or punt return for td's!? ;)

Nothing like returning a kickoff back for a TD. Though, I've found out I suck at Madden 11 so this is usually done in Madden 10. Online's great when you find yourself being the only person who actually gets the Madden games out of the people you know. That's really 1 of the 2 nice things in 11, it's easy for someone new to come in and use gameflow and the kicking is easier than in 10 (for some reason I always moved the right analog stick to the left or right when pushing it upwards). Not to mention Madden 11 I use Kolb for the Eagles and his stats aren't that great since he was never allowed to play. But yeah, online is where it's at for me, there was a couple of months when every night I'd play at least one game of Madden 10 online. Tried doing that with 11 but couldn't get into it as much (the online lobbies/rooms are a lot easier to navigate in 10, I'm not a big fan of quick matching since you can get into a game where someone has like 400 wins and 20 loses and you know he's cheating somehow cause who has that much time).
