Poll 100 years for now, when people open a history book - how will Trump be remembered? (69 votes)

As the worst president 41%
As one of the worst 19%
As a bad president 10%
As an okay president 6%
As a good president 4%
As one of the best 6%
As the greatest president of all time 14%

The economy is in shambles, the country is more divided than in the past 100 years, China is beating us in different sectors, unemployment is at an all-time high, bigotry is widespread, other world leaders are laughing at us... I mean the list keeps going on.

But forget about that. Let's go to the year 2120, I'm seriously thinking no one is going to believe Trump was president and will be just in complete shock of laughter.

May 29th 2020 - he's one of the worst, in the bottom. Considering we still have a couple of months to go, could be the worst.

I think he’ll be regarded as one of best. For far too long politicians have made big claims and promises to get elected, and did nothing. Obama was a status quo president and in 8 years, did hardly anything. Wasn’t his slogan ‘Change’? Obamacare didn’t do anything and race relations didn’t get any better. Everything Trump campaigned on he’s taken action on. The wall is being built, unemployment lowered (pre wuhan virus), travel ban, China, etc etc. All problems previous presidents have championed, but it ended there.

It's not an opinion on my part. It's based on the facts of his administration and leadership. Yours, of course, is based on the letter next to his name. If that was a D, I can guarantee you'd be screaming.

I don't know but everything feels like it keeps escalating, and both sides are at each others throats to the point it's ridiculous and it's just going to get worse.

The trump era is all about division. Political ideology v political ideology. Race v race. Rich v poor.

I looked up Woodrow Wilson myself after that comment. Seems he's viewed favorably for the most so I don't know what he's on about.

And you just proved the point. This is exactly what I mean. You are so quickly to say it's all trumps fault, without seeing that it's Both sides, adding fuel to the fire.

And? trump is out there every day tweeting and talking divisively. Obviously the other side is not going to continue to take it. Why is so hard for cons to be honest about who they elected?

Yeah trump is part of the problem, why is it so hard to see that's it's not all trump though and the left is equally at fault.

Bull. I don't feel they are equally at fault.

This kind of insane rhetoric wasn't typical of a POTUS before him. Not even remotely.

Trump shares video of supporter saying "the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat"

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/president-trump-shares-video-of-supporter-saying-the-only-good-democrat-is-a-dead-democrat/

or threatening funds from Blue States because they are Democrat states on multiple occasions during crisis. Was that ever normal?

Never said he wasn't a part. America political system is like a married couple who after 20 years hates each others guts but still want to be together. They sit in the counselors room and blame each other for every issue instead of compromising or working together. While the councilor can't get a word in.

I could rattle of a bunch of stuff the left has done and you'll do the same with the right and where does that leave us? Things just getting worse.

Ahh let the fictional excuses begin, both sides are NOT equally divisive. One side doesn't have a Trump, POTUS is supposed to bring us together. "Bu bu society made him this way!" Are we really going to treat him like a sympathetic villain from a MCU movie? Is that the point we're at, having to compare POTUS to comic book villains?

Do you even know Trump before he was the POTUS? Did you see his tweets for several years before being POTUS? Do you even remember Birthergate? Lock her UP? Climate Change being a hoax? Central park five?

Or the more recent Morning Joe being a killer? Over 15,0000 lies? Re-tweeting "The only good Democrat is a Dead Democrat"? Telling Blue states to basically go eat shit and die because they didn't vote for him? Partisan lies on voting?

That's not normal bro. That isn't anyone elses fault but Trump's. He's always been insane and polarizing. He ran on it. He didn't change at all lol. HE brought that with him. That's been his behavior for over a decade. Obama didn't behave like that or make these nutjob psychopath dividing comments....

If you want a more data driven answer: His rhetoric and even policy ideas/actions are beyond divisive. Look at the polling of his ideas, they are in the tank for voters/Americans who are not (R). He has the lowest average term approval in history and highest disapproval term average, for voters/Americans who are not (R). There's a reason for this. His comments and actions.

Don't give me that baloney that he's some sympathetic comic-book super villain, because that just makes him seem worse.

Probably with indifference.

In the US we learn the list of presidents early in grade school, but we don't really learn anything about them.

I have no idea about most of the dumb shit past presidents have done. I can only look at what is happening now and wonder why our current president is so incompetent.

If anything historians will probably say he is a 'bad president' for his tendency to divide people, and for pointing fingers instead of leading.

That's optimistic. Last time the opposition ran an actual candidate ... (and still lost).

Guess we'll know in November.

Well I said Americans, not the Electorate College. All indications point to another clear PV loss in November, in the case Trump wins at all. The GOP's policy is pretty unpopular (and bad), so winning the minds of most Americans is out of the question.

Also Hillary was a worse candidate than Biden, and as such was doing worse than Biden currently is. While they were over hyped and partially fabricated, she had some pretty huge scandals that could be exploited. Biden is just boring old Biden. But that can all change, maybe public opinion will wildly shift out of his favor.

You americans can probably elect someone even worse. Doors are open to elect a cucumber for president, basically. A cucumber would've been better than Trump, though.

Trump was a bad president that quickly become a leading contender for the worst president of all time. He's quickly ruined the Republican party, He is a driving force for the recent surge of racism and discrimination in this country and he seems to be doing everything possible to make the rich richer without truly benefitting anyone else. He honestly makes me wish that George W Bush was back in office.
